Altec Lansing's InMotion IMT1 for Palm devices
r
We rolled by the Palm booth last night at one of the many CTIA side events, MobileFocus, and to our surprise they not only didn't chop off our heads, but even took a moment to demo the new Palm-enabled Altec Lansing InMotion IMT1. Basically it's your standard-fare device-centric speaker system which will play audio off any piece of Palm you've got with a multi-connector; if it's a phone ye be using, it can also roll as a speakerphone. For your $179 you also get a line out and that whole regular docking/charging-by-USB thing that the kids seem to enjoy so much these days.

No shit, Sherlock...

And it provides insight as to why Palm has issues getting their user base to upgrade to newer models...they keep changing the connector type.
Heaven forbid you have family members with different palm models...you can't use the same peripherals.

179 BUCKS!?!?? For that price, this thing better connect my Treo to my TV for video playback, too.
Karl Susman @ Dec 19th 2005 1:06AM
Hey that is pretty cool since it charges too - you can really use the Treo like an alarm clock

This is great!! The Treo gaining cult-like status like the Ipod. Blackberry wishes they can be like the Treo. Long live the Treo!!

You know, someone ought to do that for the P9xx or the W800 now so we know that it'll work with the upcoming P-"infinity" connector.
You listenin', SE-boys?

Make it $99, and I'll buy one for work to set my LifeDrive on.

The Treo just doesn't look right in a dock. The Treo is great, but it looks like a piece of technology - the iPod is art.

Kind of expensive this technology is already available in the Motorola Portable Bluetooth speaker that was on clearance for like $20 at Office Depot.
