Japanese watchmakers set out to define standard for cellphone companion watches

Not a whole lot of details on this one, but Nikkei.net (via I4U News) is reporting that Japanese watchmakers have formed a new initiative to develop wristwatches that will serve as a companion to your cellphone. The group, consisting of Citizen Watch, Casio Computer, Seiko Instruments and Seiko Epson, are all joining with the Mobile Computing Promotion Consortium to define a new standard that will allow watches to display email and SMS received by cellphones using, you guessed it, Bluetooth.
