Introducing Engadget Simplified Chinese

Earlier this summer we introduced Engadget Chinese, our Traditional Chinese-language version of Engadget, headed up by our main man Jason Chiang and his amazing crew of writers and translators. But our ever-expanding base of peeps have spoken, and we can't deny the demand for a Simplified Chinese version of the site—so while everyone over there's observing a long weekend for Chinese National Day, we thought it was about time to introduce Engadget Simplified Chinese at http://cn.engadget.com. Thanks to all our readers who made it possible for us to launch a new version of the site, and big ups to the Engadget Chinese crew!
This should have been the t-shirt logo.

I think this can be done completely without human interface, right? The conversion from traditional to simplified, and vice versa, I mean.
You should sell that logo as a t-shirt on white. That is smooth.

That logo is pretty sweet, I have to say. (And the first Chinese character means "inside", if I remember correctly.... I feel special!)

actually, the first character means "middle" as in "middle kingdom." (That's what China means in Chinese.) The three characters mean "middle language version."

The combination of the first two means "Chinese"(the first one is "inside" or "middle", or short for China; The second one means "literal"). And the third one means "version".

Cool, I mean the logo, and I'm expecting this logo to be perminently used by the Simplified Chinese Engadget instead of the English-like one. Is that possible?

If you're arguing over the exact meaning of Zhong.. you must already know that it has about 5 or 6 different meanings..
You guys managed to make something as interesting as the Chinese language sound petty and geeky. Right on Engadget.
jeez, simply put it means "Chinese Version"

well... as a chinese myself, i have to say that the first two characters can not be tell separately. they, together, mean "Chinese" or, "Chinese language" to be specific. The third character mean "version" like most people said. QUANTUMPHYSICS is quite right at this point. :)))

I like the logo, too. We'll be incorporating it into Engadget Chinese soon -- we're in the midst of working on design stuff for all the sites -- and we'll try and get some t-shirts with logo made as well.
hiya QUANTUMPHYSICS.. thank you for your feedback.. i so admire your bilingual ability.. fluent in both English and Mandarin.. i can't reach that fluency in my English though.
Ok: a 3rd clarification, since noone asked for it. I'm HK, brought up in Australia but my limited Chinese vocabulary happens to incorporate these characters. Allow me to embarrass myself:
character 1: middle
character 2: culture
character 3: version... and also plank? (as in... wood)
1+2 = Chinese
1+2+3 = ...*drumroll*.... "Chinese Version"
Also, glad to see PR's showing some logo love. Here's to my next favourite T-shirt.
