Okay, okay, this seriously pushes the envelope on crappy leaked (and/or potentially 'shopped) photos for sure but, you know, why the heck not? This is supposedly a camphone shot of the mysterious, the elusive, the much-rumoured video iPod that may be announced as early as next week (grain of salt, disclaimer, yadda yadda). Make of this what you will, folks. What do you think — plausible?

yes i think that that is the real ipod video because i have seen multiple photoshopped photos on the internet. they probably didnt have the real picture but had information
There is no way in hell Steve Jobs would ever allow a product that long, and awkward to have his icon of approval (ie. the apple icon) slapped on that thing. That is everything he is against. Can you imagine him going up there on the 12th, saying '10,000 songs in your..... well, it doesn't really fit in your pocket - because it's abnormally long and fat.' Jobs doesn't want a bulky white version of the PSP. Don't get me wrong apple are a great company- and when they do make an iPod video (or let someone take a photo of it with their camera Phone) apple will design it, in in such a way that will blow all of us away- Hey, isn't that the apple way? The design above is too predictable - and, in the worst case scenario, If the design above REALLY is the real design that will be revealed on the 12th, I think that Apple's design team have let themselves slip with this one. And boy, what a big slip up it would be.
1)What i really know from that image, is that the one who took it isn't a good photographer.
2)It also looks as if it had a paper cover.
(I hope real iPod Videos are not made of paper.)
3)It's not symmetrical (look at the top right corner and compare it with the bottom right corner)

Very nice pictures, you even got a mention in the UK paper News of the World. Shame the reflection on the regular iPod is of the menu, rather than the video that has been placed there, can't see a blue stripe on the now playing screen. Fix that up and you'll have a real good 'artist impression' ;)
I think we all seem to be forgetting that Steve has said that there's not going to be a video iPod....

Well like everybody else in the house, if that's the shape then its a winner. The question will always be price. Portable DVD players are under £70 now so if its in the £460 rumour price then it fails, just like the iPod Photo did.
The fact iTunes now supports video should be an indication of what's to come. Its just a matter of when.
Ipod video would be very very popular as everyone has been looking around for a good one. But i bet the price will be very steap (high), just hope its not to much
You guys all worship Jobs and Apple like a video iPod is "ground breaking" and "pushing the envelope". Its already out. Cowon's iAudio X5 has way better sound and far more features, plus video and pictures all for the price and size of an ipod. They only thing apple would probably acomplish would be to one up it with video resolution. The features would still lack.
Um, that looks, sorry, IS the start-up screen of a Toshiba Pocket PC model I have when you power it up for the first time, or you do a reset.
Sooo... does that mean Video iPod runs on Pocket PC? :)
if it hasn't got at least 80gig and a replaceable battery i'm not purchasing it. Archos already has a 100gig monolith out so hopefully apple has tried to improve on that
The thing in the picture is ugly, the concept is stupid, and Steve Jobs has publicly said he thinks the concept is stupid. Fake.
It's obvious this is fake for one simple reason.
It's now October 12th. If it was real, do you really think the Apple legal department would allow this photo to still be posted. :)

To state the obvious, the iPod video is out now. It is essentially an iPod with a larger screen, a larger hdd, and a much better chipset to support video playback. It will replace the current iPod.
Brad's right. Check out the Apple site and see for yourself. It's nothing all that special, really.

• Look How Low The click Wheel Is..It Would Be Impossible To Scroll Properly.
• The Screen Is Huge. you Would Get Mega Scratches On The Thing.

Wow the video ipod finally hits the markets and WOW WOW WOW is all I can say what an amazing looking piece of kit. Now I have a PSP and its not going to replace that for movies on the go but what people have to take into account is last week apple wanted £299 for a 60GB ipod photo now they give you video for the same money. Cant wait for all the new accessories to come out found a UK site with a ipod video section already http://www.easyipod.co.uk they have a couple of cases but no leather ones yet thats what im gonna wait for. I think i get a case with the ipod but im sure its not that good. The one with the ipod photo was rubbish.
Apple's getting just a little bit carried away. It hasn't even been a month since they released the iPod Nano and they're already announcing a new iPod that will play video!
I spent $400 on the 'second' release of the 20 gigabyte iPod that only played music. Less than a year later, a version that displayed color images made its debut. Please make up your mind!
The iPod's strength is the music playback and storage capabilities. When incorporating the visual element, Apple should gear the video towards content that associates with music videos, live performances, or new release commercials. Music videos that are 2-3 minutes long are a better medium than a 3 hour Scarface movie. Believe me, someone will try to watch Sacraface on their iPod!
Hi, im interested in getting one of the Video ipod. I would like some feedback but would i be able to put movies on it that i already have on my computer with out buying them from itunes? would you reccomend this or the psp, and for what reasons? thank you to who ever leaves feedback to my request

Hitachi did come out with its hard drives with perpendicular data bits so the 60gb uses fewer platters and is thinner, but the 100gb woul dbe so bulky no one would want it except hardcore music junkies. And also, IT IS running pocket pc os, I have a toshiba e740, that is the hard boot screen

Yea that looks like the ipod but with such low lighting I can not tell if it is or not 100% .Either way the video Ipods are hot!
