LED tank top
What — fashion and AI brought together in a garment and we don't have several in our closet already? Leah Buechley's LED tank top combines 84 LEDs, a microcontroller and a battery with conductive thread to generate a wearable LED matrix display. The shirt is actually a wearable "board" for the cellular automata-based Game of Life, for those of you math geeks in the house. This project finally gives a definitive answer to the conundrum of what to get the fashionable mathematicians in your life (a perennial Ask Engadget favorite).
