The Sonic Grenade: skull-shattering fun
Be it good old lamp-shade-wearin' fun or sweet, sweet revenge — the Sonic Grenade is sure to deliver both. Pull the pin and toss into the room of any unsuspecting aurally-equipped beast and prepare for the geek pummeling to come. And since the only way to shut off the "three pitches of skull-shattering sound" is via reinsertion of the pin, this one trick pony is likely to be returned smashed to bits. But for £10 ($18US), you can afford to pick up a couple, dig.

Leo @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
Does it have to have any practical application?
No, didn't think so.
Google Nazi @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
to #1... -_-#
Anyway... for the price I can't afford to get 2 or 3 but I can afford to get one. great little technology and it would be fun to actually see an old lady pull it out of her pocket and throwing it at some robber XD
A cooler gadget though is those little devices that shatter windows with high frequencies.

Cambob @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
Practical application? Well it could serve as a good distraction while you rob your local Wal-Mart.
Derek M @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
I wish I had a few of these when I was in the dorms!
olderty @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
It'd be be cool to throw a few in the noisy neighbor's gutters at 6:00 am in the morning, after their parties.
Arizona Glover @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM

This would be a sweet little prank to toss in the anechoec chamber and close the door... (Yes, my university has an anechoec chamber, and yes there is no noise that will leave it unless the door is opened).
How long does the battery last?
Indianajonz @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
where can you get one in the U.S.???
Nick @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
Wow, throw one of those out on the street and you'll probably be picked up by Homeworld...sorry, meant Homeland Security.
And god forbid you work for a defense contractor...can you imagine the sh** storm if you tossed one of those into the next bunker...sorry, meant cubicle...over?
Igor Jablokov @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
Sure...take these through airport security (rolls eyes).
dan @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
*Take grenade*
*Toss into gym locker*
*Pull pin*
*Snap on lock*
*Flee!*
alex @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
Airport? Hell, why not just attach a few on you and go to the local bank (errr hope I don't give anyone funny ideas)
Rocko @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
aww man, this would be perfect for the vacuum tubes they use to send mail to other rooms at the old hotels in new york.
DaveHimself @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
I've been using this type of item for pranks and revenge and even security for a few years now. The Grenade style is awesome, but here is a link to the one Ive been using. It is cheap (5.99)and effective (and available at circuit city.)

1 Sonic Grenade + 1 smart ass + 1 Iraq War Vet =
1 dead ass + 1 Incarcerated Vet + 1 Bankrupt Company
Chuck Steak @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
how do I build an anechoic chamber? Are there size limits? Can you make an analog reverb out of one?

Ryan Gardener do you go to UCLA? I know they have an anechoic chamber which is hardly used anymore...
Pacman @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
umm... isnt this a man version for one of them attack alarm for women? xD
Pal @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
This would be great at our dorm. It's a 17 story building, and I imagine that it'd get chucked out the window by the victim as soon as I pull the pin...get it on video and it's $18 well spent.
P.S. - I love seeing a "Awesome, first post!" comment as the second post :)
"First post!" people...I hate you.
Coyote @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
oh I thought #2 meant awsome to the first post.. which is a question Id like to see answered.
