Humax drops the LGB-40TPVR, a 40-inch LCD/DVR
Humax Digital recently revealed a 40-inch HD plasma LCD TV with both a built-in DVR and dual digital Freeview tuners for watching those free UK terrestrial broadcasts. The LGB-40TPVR is one of the larger models we've seen to include a hard drive, although its 40GB capacity isn't the best to store large volumes of HD content. This unit also includes a DVI input as well as an analog tuner, so you can record two Freeview broadcasts while simultaneously getting your BBC-on. Expect to see this model on UK store shelves (or more likely, store walls) sometime in December, for around $3700.
Update: How can it be both a plasma and an LCD screen? It can't, of course. Our mistake; it's just
an LCD.

It's an LCD. The article has no mention of plasma.

OK, wait, so "drops" now means the opposite of what most people say it means, right?

If its like their existing 32" LCD PVR (the LGB-32TPVR) then it will NOT be able to record two channels at the same time (the 32" can record one channel and let you WATCH another).
Frankly such a limitation (which I have confirmed with Humax over the 32" model) makes it completely unattractive. Even Humax's own PVR-9200T set top box can RECORD two channels and let you watch an existing recording (just like a Sky+ box).
