The DoubleSpace stove and easy chair
Oh man, we bring you the DoubleSpace kitchenette — a dual-burner electric stove that doubles as an easy chair. It's created for those of you confined to a university dorm or raging in the big city where space is an absolute premium and a little sauce on the shag is to be expected. The designer claims you can't turn the burner on while the DoubleSpace is in the chair position – but where you gonna plant your pork chop eatin' ass after your grub is ready and those burners are still red hot? This is either the most dangerous and craziest idea we've ever seen or it's pure genius.

So is this what they mean by "being in the hot seat?"
Arthur @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
The question is, does it come in a RANGE of colors?
bonkeykong @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
#1, No "being in the hot seat" is an expression for a highly vulnerable position, not a literal hot seat.
Uy Tran @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
I'd say sitting on a stove is a highly vulnerable position.
Drew @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
Safety's an issue, but I'd rock that in my dorm room if it came in black.
john @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
Does it run on methane?
Mike S @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
I say genious, but we really need to test this thing out
Mike S @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
Ahhh!
genius, not genious!
dan @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
i would seriously want one of these for my college dorm room, pending that it's allowed in here.
Hahaha @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
that should be in a caption contest
heres mine: can you say expensive seat warmer?
Francois @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
doesnt seems too safe how the elements are so close to the wood (melamine) counter...... fire hazard anyone?
Donnie @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
"I smell something burning..."
Well, referring to Francois' comment, that's just bad design on the designers' part. Also, using induction, wouldn't burn as easily as the coil/solid disk cooktops. I wonder if the MDF board would expand when there's a boil-over and ruin the seat. There's an expectation of the domino-effect failure.

(#3) Bonkeykong, you are either an idiot, or a robot with no sense of humor.
dan @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
For a caption, and as a safety precaution for the usage of this furniture...
"Don't fart."

Skeptic @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
Also not ideal for the cat owner......Anyone seen Fluffy? Ewww, whats that smell?
DAKH @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
I hope the designer also invented an anti-gravity grease trap...
WOV @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
Wow. Wow. people burn down their homes *plenty* anyway without a stove, mounted in a synthetic materials cabinet, that turns around to face the goddamn floor. Goddamnit.
Jen @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
hot!
:)
