Nokia's E60, E61, and E70 E-series mobile business phones
Looks like Nokia's announced their new E60, E61, and E70 3G (WCDMA) phones with WiFi and mobile mail targeting mobile business users (yes, it's got GoodLink, Nokia Business Center, Seven Always-On, Visto Mobile, and BlackBerry Connect support). All the Series 60 Es run on Symbian OS 9.1 and will support advanced voice services such as Push-To-Talk and SIP allowing companies to integrate these phones into their Avaya or Cisco IP PBX (think 4-digit dialing and assisted call answering). The E60 candybar is optimized for voice and targets GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 and WCDMA2100 networks while the E61 takes a shot off the Motorola Q's bow and includes all the IP telephony functions but is optimized for mobile email and operates in quad-band GSM and WCDMA 2100 networks. The E70 is their enterprise all-in-one messaging device and will be released in two flavas: one for Europe and Asia and another for the Americas. Available in the first quarter of 2006 worldwide priced between €350 and €450. This is a big deal for Nokia—more pics after the jump.

Nokia E61

That E70 is looking mighty fine. If it's available here in Canada when it's released I'll be looking into it.
sweet! i'm impressed they took the s60 and changed the form factors up a bit. wifi and 3g is also a plus
Please Nokia, release a version of the E60 for N. America - even if you have to stip out some of the features.
The E70 picture is the same as the N68/6830 featured a few posts earlier... Is this the same phone then?
Yes the E70 was the 6830 - new positioning and numbering scheme - Nokia Eseries.
Of course it is...

Those are pretty sweet looking. I might just spring for that e61. How is Symbian doing these days? Good apps? I'm kinda hooked on Palm...
Wow..... That E61 looks amazing. It could be the next Blackberry. Better resolution, a d-pad (ohmigawd!), 3G support, and of course, Symbian. Meaning we'll see Opera on it. *drool*
does any one else think the e60 is looking very sonyericson-ish
You'll see Opera on the Moto Q, too. I already use it every day on my MPx220.
Do these phones have wifi or not? I'm reading conflicting information. The specs at the Nokia site don't mention it, but a lot of the news articles written today do say they come with wifi.
The E61 running Opera would be the sweetest thing. I was all set on getting an SE P990 to replace my 902SH, but now I am kinda wondering if I should get the E61. Both have QVGA screen and QWERTY keyboard...... The dilemma. :D
FSM is my master
E61 .. it's very beutiful. Looks like Treo 650 or treo 700.
cool stuff!!!! it's innovation from nokia!
i'm psyched on the e61 as well. if it has 3g, wifi, and bluetooth then i'll be sold on it. I'm sure it'll come to t-mo in the US, unfortunately i was JUST about to drop t-mo.
I've always preferred NetFront to Opera. I find it loads pages a lot faster and has more advanced features.
So let me get this straight... quad-band GSM, W-CDMA *and* WiFi on a small device? That's totally awesome. Nokia has really raised the bar again here.
Finally! QWERTY on series 60! Took them long enough...
But how to decide between the E61 and the E70? The screen on the E70 seems a bit small, although its got more pixels. Could use the camera for moblogging too.
Anyone got any numbers on the physical screen sizes?
I wonder what the resolution is of the e61.
E61 = 3g, Wifi, Voip, BT, Symbian 9.1!!! It has everything that Moto Q dont have. Too bad for Moto. Im buying Nokia E61! Business and plesure together. Aa-aah!
I wonder if it has stereo sound? There is a mp3 player...so yes?

Some Key Points:
Wi-Fi = Yes, but note that the Wi-Fi is 802.11g. You should be able to make VOIP calls over Wi-Fi, by cooperating with business VOIP PBX systems from Cisco and Avaya. So these phones are business VOIP phones, not Skype consumer phones.
Available in US?
When reading Nilkas Savander between the lines during the audiocats one can predict that Cingular is the first US carrier to offer the Eseries phones, maybe not first quorter 2006 and maybe not the exact same models.

Nokias page of E61 says this:
"WLAN connection can be shared by multiple applications at the same time. For example: email, browser and synchronization"
Multiple applications can also be some kind of skype software. I think thats more than just VOIP PBX...
And mobileburn says that it has 802.11

I would have bought the E60 in a heartbeat but for one thing: where's the quadband? At least make a US version. I mean the E61 is a brick and the E71 just not what I need.
What is the screen resolution on the E61? Can't find it anywhere.
hmmm ... Am I wrong that only the E70 has a camera???
Hey people,
Note that none of these phones have WCDMA in their American versions! WTF?
Will it support Blackberry Enterpise Servers (Exchange/Domino) or only Blackberry webmail?
"Note that none of these phones have WCDMA in their American versions! WTF?"
Because there is no W-CDMA in the US perhaps?
I like the fact these phones integrate into Cisco VoIP networks.

Screen res on the E61 = 320x240
Nokia without camera!!!!!!!!
Realy sorry! 16mcolor without cam!!!!!
WCDMA will be deployed by Cingular in the U.S. in 2005-2006:

Cant wait till Nokia comes out with these phones.
Well E61 looks good, E70 has camera, all have 16M colours, and all are 3G. but none of them support Video Calling (no dual-cam)!!
Correct me if i'm wrong, is E70 running symbian? i don't see the "mark" and "menu" keys on it!?!
oh. I like E60, but no video calling (dual cam) and no camera even... that just disappointing!
hopefully they come out with N71 (or something like that) (with 16M high-res screen instead of the current 262k mid-res screen)
Nokia anounced today that WebKit (aka Safari) is the new browser in their s60 line of phone... sweet :-)
