PSP2TV for reals, for sale
The PSP2TV — a PSP dock that allows you to play your games on a TV screen — seemed pretty sketch when we saw the 3D render last month, but it looks like those guys really got their act together and now they're gearing up to take your money ($119) in exchange for one of these shiny PSP cradles. They're coming through with the feature set too: RCA or S-Video out to TV, PS2 controller support, and switch able aspect ratio from 16:9 to 4:3. It will charge your PSP if you want to be boring about the whole thing, but still no word on how Sony feels about all this — so get 'em while you can.
[Thanks, Bane]

The "Read" link has a parameter that shows the editors shopping cart. This is the correct link:

whoop-de-freakin-doo. a super expensive PS2 that is probably LARGER than the mini-PS2, as well.

whats the process involved in using this thing? i have to imagine it involves soldering or somesuch. sony should have made this a standard available accessory. i could see the PSP (and namely UMDs) being considerably more popular this way.
also. why is the website designed for like a 4000 pixel wide monitor? thats stupid looking.

Maybe the editor wants you to buy one of these fine products.
Actually the clunky thing looks too annoying for anyone to buy it for more than 60 bucks.

i LOVE the 16:9 aspect ratioN!
lol. sorry guys, this is a great typo!

You have to remove the faceplate (goodbye warranty) and attach the contacts to the ribbon cable that runs to the LCD, no soldering required as it just presses the wires to the exposed contacts on the board. Not worth it for the price/warranty voiding IMO

Wow!
I can't wait to play PSP games on my big screen TV! So the graphics aren't as good as a PS2 and the sound isn't as good as a PS2, and the games are PS2 ports, and the controller isn't as good as the dual shock, but I'm gonna do this anyway.
WOW! Can you think about UMD movies on this? It is like having a DVD player. So this thing gets bolted on, as in you can't take it off? Well, it isn't very portable then. And multiplayer games would be a pain in the butt cause you can't plug in another controller. So I have to boy another PSP to take with me on the road and to use as a second controller. And I have to buy 2 copies of multiplayer games, one for each PSP now.
Maybe this is more expensive than getting a PS2 AND a DVD player but I don't care cause I love Sony! I'm sure that one day there will be some great games for the PSP like GTA or Metal Gear. Then I will be able to play them on a HUGE TEEVEE! Maybe even a projector!
That would be great! I can't wait! Maybe I'll get two of these and use the 2nd one on my TV's Picture-in-picture window for multiplayer games.
I'm brilliant!

NO Modification PSP TV is better, and I've been watching these guys. *BONUS*!! I just found a link to the PHOTO of the NO Modification PSP TV product! Check out http://www.ps2cover.com/psp-on-tv.shtml and click on the picture for a larger version. Why hasn't this made it to Engadget, Slashdot, Gizmodo, or Joystiq yet?

Rey @ Dec 19th 2005 2:31AM
A step backwards I think. Why not just create some sort of adapter (ala GBA Player for the Gamecube) to let you run UMD/PSP Games on the PS2.
I guess the PSP screen (as big as it is) just isn't big enough, eh?
drew @ Dec 19th 2005 2:31AM
dont get this. the ps3 will connect to the psp with wi-fi and i bet theyre let you play and watch umds through this connection. dont waste money on this, if youre getting ps3 wait it out

I wonder if emulator developers will be able to add light gun support with this thing? I'd love to be able to play duck hunt with a wireless PS2 light gun...

This contraption bricked my psp.
Be forewarned...it is shoddy construction, hard to install, and left my psp useless.
Thanks Xtender.
