Samsung i300

the::unwired just posted up part one of their hands-on review of the SGH-i300, Samsung's first cellphone with a built-in 3GB hard drive. The biggest problem right off the bat with the i300 is that it runs on Windows Mobile 2003 SE — Windows Mobile 5.0 is way more solid than its predecessors — and it's a real shame that Samsung couldn't get it together and get the newer OS onto the phone (same deal with the i730, though at least it looks Samsung might offer an upgrade). Anyway, this part of the review focuses on the phone's hardware, not its software, and on that tip it sounds like they're mainly digging the phone. They definitely like the i300's navigation wheel, its built-in stereo speakers, and its crisp, if small, QVGA (320 x 240 pixel) LCD screen, but they are careful to note that it is a bit thick for a candybar phone (they had to make room for the 3GB drive) and that the phone lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack.
