Engadget Podcast 049 - 10.25.2005
A lot of high def news going down this week,
what with Apple releasing their new high def PowerBooks (the ones that are sure to be among the last we'll see before
they go Intel), the Power Mac G5 Quad (which has support for up to 4 hi def Cinema Displays), Netflix postponing their
online movie download service, and, of course, the latest studio to have a format-affair on their one and only: Warner
Bros. But we've also got the details on Nokia's latest lineup, the L'Amour series, as well as our experiences at the
Intel Innovation Destination event in New York. Podcast 49 is go!

Please do resurrect the Folding @ Home info -- I'd love to participate.
Nicolas @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
I don't know if you can answer this or help me out.
I want to buy one of the new Powerbook but I will like to know your opinion in whether it will be wise to wait to the intel base powerbooks come out or not? What are your views in this one?
Rob @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
deffinately should start up the engadget folding@home team
ZoliElo @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
Seems to be cut short on iTunes, 17 odd mins only.
Jay Contonio @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
Nicolas I would wait. The current line of powerbooks run OS X rather slow and once the Intel ones come out you'll be kicking yourself for not waiting...think, new design, much faster hardware, and *MAYBE* a bit cheaper.
The current line is nice and all (I have a 15" powerbook), but there will be times you clench your fist at the screen because the thing is just too slow for the price.

Hey ZoliElo,
I downloaded it from iTunes, and it downloaded fine. Not sure where the problem lies, but let me know if you still can't download it in iTunes.
Cya,
Randall

Unsubscribing then re-subscribing did the trick. Seems like I was a freak case...
Kevin @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM

The Hack-A-Day folding team just entered the top 200 this week after doing over 1mil points in less than a month. We'd love to have you on board. You can check out the how-to for getting the most out of your system: http://www.hackaday.com/entry/1234000673058540/

Yeah, a Folding@Home team would be great. I've got a PIII 850 laptop that does nothing but run that 24/7 at the moment. (Doesn't go very fast, but it helps!)
