iBelieve, 250 sermons in your pocket
The iBelieve, eh? iPod, religion, it's actually kind of fitting when you think about it. We have a feeling these are
going to be way better domestic sellers than the shuffle Star of David or the shuffle Crescent Moon, though. Just don't
actually go around quoting the Jobs 3:15 scripture on their site, ok? And on the seventh day He said, "Oh, one
more thing…" (There, y'happy?)

Bill Maher did a "iGod" skit last week on Real Time. Funny Stuff :)
Saffy @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
See, if the shuffle actually had a screen, this would be the perfect way to store that SMS bible engadget reported on a few weeks ago.

Where's my iWantToBelieve for the Apple bashers? :)

iPod (with Jesus)
anne @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
i've always thought the shuffle was a bit of the ugly stepchild of the pod family. now i know why.
btw: you can download the entire king james' bible mp3 for free now. google it and be prepared for techy evangelists.
this is humorous @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
did you rtfs Not Christian? It is a piece of satire. It is commontary on the power of apple zeal and is not intended for the serious christian. Chill out, you sound like you're are high schooler just beginning to rebelion against your upbringing.
dan @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
there is a book of Job in the bible...
jonny @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
Wow "not christian" I think some one pi$$ed in your corn flakes today. But seriously, this is kinda a neat idea... Being from the bible belt and all, I am by far not a stoic christian, but I do enjoy the church here and agian. Anyways, so what is this? a piece of plastic you buy to snap onto the shuffle? Interesting...why not just just glue two shuffles = double the memory and then triple the price... Wow... thats cool..but no..looks like a piece of plastic to sell to the W.a.s.p.'s of today. Interesting idea though...so Jobs... why not go ahead and make yourself the next comming of christ and hail ipods as imiracles eh?
Noah @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
I know its cheesy, but perhaps "The Power of iPod Compels You."
Lasica @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
Heh, this is great - I'm going to order one just for the fun factor. And #8 - you seriously need a chillout pill - this thing is not for christian zealots but for people with a sense of humour (ever hard of that?)
ToJ_Rapha @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
Really cool, and funny.
Alright, I'll also bite on the flamebait of the previous post... if just a little. There's a difference between Christianity & Christendom. The former is based on having a real and personal relationship with God by putting faith in Jesus Christ, His Son. The later is a general conglomeration of all peoples who loosely claim to be Christian. I agree that a lot of horrendous things have been done by 'Christendom' that have little to do with following Jesus.
ToJ_Rapha @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
Clarification .. The previous post by me (ToJ_Rapha) was in response to "Not Christian".
Curtis McMinn @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
I agree exactly with ToJ_Rapha. It seems Not Christian is either trying to stir stuff up and start a debate or, like one said, he is a child angry at his upbringing. I think it is funny whe people point out the history of the church yet have no knowledge of its dealings, its history or basically any knowledge of the church at all. Muslims killed more Christians than Christians ever did. Hitler? Stalin? Gangs and Mafia?
These aren't real christians. These are people who identify theirselves with Christ yet have no clue what it means.
Richard @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
jonny:
How exactly is this product targeted at white Anglo-Saxons? For that matter, how is it targeted at protestants as opposed to Catholics?
enzo @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
If only it was the soothing voice of James Earl Jones. Maybe then, I'd think about it. :)
eskimo @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
I wonder if it would include the "Do not eat" section in the intructions manual.
(By the way, the part that says do not eat [on the shuffle] is wrong.... It's delicious.)
narco @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
I am not Christian, nor do I have any need for an iPod shuffle but I kind of want this. I wish I was into the goth thing because this would be the perfect accessory.
And to the anti-Christian guy: can you just let the people keep on believing what they believe? If Christianity makes them happy, then let them be happy. Shit.
Fishes,
narco.

#23 - Don't forget to add government in there as well.
Maybe we should buy W one of these with some high school lectures on the separation of church and state.

They need an iMormon, which has a dock for 5 or 6 iPod Shuffles.
Next stop ... the OyPod.
john cranford @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
I was considering buying a mp3 player for my 8 yr old shes been begging for an ipod for quite some time, I was gonna buy her a gereric mp3 player, but im definitly getting her one of these and a shuffle for the sole reason a teacher will not be allowed to remove this from her at recess ( the whole seperation of church and state protections)
Take that you you uniform madating, taking our parental rights away Texas school districts. Power to THE PEOLPE... side note i would also buy the other future muslim and jew versions.

if you don't like christians ... fine, but be nice to them. the same goes to jews, muslims, etc (except to hindus! ... j/k). if you're not nice, then you're an asshole and be like those religious fanatics. dig?
if you're christians, love those who hate you. you don't have to like them, but you do have to love them.
if you're a mac zealot, f you, go to hell!
... j/k!!! :)
Jacob Job @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
I use my nano to store some sermons actually. Very handy for it, but I'd sure rather have a screen when storing and selecting a sermon rather than just getting a random one.
E_bar_goum @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
Regarding Not Christian
if people want to be christain than so be it.
if people want to be Muslim than so be it.
if people want to be Hindu than so be it.
if people want to be Atheist than so be it...
ect ect ad nauseam.
everyone has the right to their religion/lack of one, and people should respect them for that. Pushing religions or the lack of them down peoples throughts.
cool it dudes.
zachary @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
Damnit Jim you beat me to the iGod, Bill Maher is so f*****g funny.
Not Christian @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
Disgusting, Just Disgusting! Anything christian is disgusting, it just makes me sick. People need to know the truth about christianity. The fact that it was created to control the masses, They killed so many Pagans, Destroyed Pagan temples, Burned Libraries which held Pagan Scrolls, COVERED our holidays with cheap versions of their own all as a way to try to make us disappear...
Bush forces religion down people's throats @ Dec 19th 2005 12:55AM
"#23 - Don't forget to add government in there as well.

Exactly, that is why Bush wants to send all our kids to Bible camps, throw evolution out the door and replace spontaneous life forms into a Creation ID movement, where Bibles are forced down everyone's throats.
I will not put up with this!!!
That is why I am signing a petition to have Bush kicked out of office after he bows down and apologizes to the French, Saddam Hussein, and Osama for all the evil atrocities he has done, and it would be nice if the retarded rethuglicans would do the same.
