Oct 26: What's on HDTV today

Colossus of New York

What we're watching
:

Time to get into the spooky spirit again; we'll have one or two scary picks each day from now through Halloween, along with a regular program pick. Unfortunately, "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" was on last night and hasn't yet been remastered in high-def! I'm sure the kids didn't mind.

If you're quick enough with your browser or RSS reader, you can watch "The Colossus of New York" right now, well 2:30 p.m. to be exact. The 1958 horror flick is on Monsters-HD in 1080i. Where else can you see a scientist's brain kept alive in a vat? Another plot-thin, but special-effect filled pick is "Scanners" at 8:30 p.m., also in 1080i on Monsters-HD. I don't recognize any of the actors from this 1981 movie, but it's a horror flick, c'mon!

For those that can't take the scariness, tune in to Fox at 8 p.m. for Game 4 of the World Series in 720p. Oh wait a second; if you're a Houston fan, you'll likely be scared of this one too. Sorry 'stros!

After the jump is our traditional listing of HD programs throughout the night.
