Engadget Seattle Reader Meetup on December 8th?
Ryan and I are going to be in Seattle next month and we thought we'd tentatively schedule an Engadget Reader Meetup for the evening of Thursday, December 8th. We still need to find a venue, so we figured we'd ask if anyone there had the hookup on an all-ages space that could comfortably fit a couple of hundred people. Drop us a line at engadget@gmail.com if you do, thanks!

Thats awesome to hear you're coming to my town! I dont know about your pricing range for fees and all that, but I'd figure any of the old hotels would do. I'll check some sites out.

I'm not sure of a place because I'm just going to school here (actually a bit South in Tacoma), but I'd definitely attend if you held it!

Glad to hear you guys are making it up this way. If you've got time I can arrange for a tour of Microvision, http://www.microvision.com
They make the heads up retinal scanning display. Lots of neat things to come and see. Drop me an email if you are interested.

I'll text Bill and Paul to see if they're interested in car pooling. This might be an option for a gadget session > http://www.seattlecenter.com/booking/venue_parent_detail.asp?VE_VenueNum=550

Can you push it back about a week and two days? I'm not done with finals until the 13th and won't fly back to Seattle until the 14th.

Check the Sea-Tac Marriot Hotel by the airport... it plays host to some great conferences of small hundreds.
That being said, I'll definitely be attending. woohoo!
Loc Nguyen @ Dec 19th 2005 12:20AM
haha good. Now come 10 miles north to Lynnwood and we'll call it a deal =). Too lazy to ride the bus to Seattle.

The Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame, has a great meeting space. It is centrally located and easy to find. I don't know how much they would charge, but it's worth looking into.

How about Kell's Irish Pub in Post Alley near the Pike Place Market. Probably a little too small, but I do know the owners, so I could maybe have a word with them. Email me if this is of interest.
Ben Hou @ Dec 19th 2005 12:20AM
The second the Marriot Waterfront place. Very nice there.
Andrew Wong @ Dec 19th 2005 12:20AM
The Seattle Public Library would be a great space. It's a great looking building and I think it's got meeting rooms that can host the number of people you are talking about and besides you get free WIFI.

I second Andrew's suggestion: The Seattle Public Library: http://images.google.com/images?client=safari&rls=en&q=Seattle%20Public%20Library&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi
The Experience Music Project (EMP) is also a good location.
Matt Hallett @ Dec 19th 2005 12:20AM
I own the Bellevue Galleria Stadium 11 Movie Theater in Bellevue Washington. If you'd like to do a Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday morning meet up from 8:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. That facility might be available for you. :-)
BarHopTheWorld @ Dec 19th 2005 12:20AM
I soon as I saw this I thought of kells. It's a perfect spot for a casual meet-up and it and the surrounding area totally embody "seattle." It might be a bit tight but with the restaraunt and the bar open it should be allright. http://www.kellsirish.com/seattle/index.php
Mattrix @ Dec 19th 2005 12:20AM
Man... If the passes open up and stay clear, If there. Only about 3 hours away from here (Lake Chelan).
mkelly @ Dec 19th 2005 12:20AM
I want to add to the votes for the Seattle Public Library - it is an incredible space and they do have meeting rooms. Looking forward to your visit!
audrey @ Dec 19th 2005 12:20AM
Places I'd recommend---Century Ballroom (www.centuryballroom.com), The Showbox, Bell Harbor Int'l Conference Center, Seattle Convention Center (of course--but big and very convention like), any of the big hotels
Rob @ Dec 19th 2005 12:20AM
