Stowaway Shasta full-size keyboard for Bluetooth Blackberrys
Think Outside has expanded its line of Stowaway portable keyboards with the Stowaway Shasta, designed specifically
for use with Bluetooth-enabled Blackberrys. Like other Stowaways, the Shasta is a folding keyboard that opens to
full-size; it includes hotkeys for various Blackberry functions, such as accessing e-mail. We don't expect this to be a
big seller; Blackberry users have invested way too much time in learning how to thumb-type, and we're they're
not about to give it up, damnit.

If it's exclusively for the 'Berry why does it have a Windows key?

I thought the blackberry 7100 only supported bluetooth headsets? If it supports a keyboard does that mean it can also support GPS nav via bluetooth?
Chip @ Dec 19th 2005 1:37AM
The 7100 already has a GPS receiver in it. Unless you mean using the 7100 as the receiver for say a laptop?

I wish there was something similar for the Sidekick. Maybe the new one will have bluetooth functionality. If so, I'd use the package as a note-taking device for college and then e-mail my notes to my computer. I can use my thumbs (with impressive agility) but it doesn't mean it's comfortable for extended notes.

Just a note, this keyboard is identical to the HP Bluetooth keyboard. The variation might be the driver since the driver for the HP version comes with is only for Windows Mobile. So if you have the HP, you might be able to use it with the BB with just a driver download.

I think only the nextel version has built-in gps. and i thought the other versions only supported headsets via bluetooth because BB didn't want to enable the serial port profile.

What I want is the inverse or whatever of this. A bluetooth thumb keyboard for my computer.

7100i has built-in GPS, the rest of the series does not. Handheld v4.0 software for BBs enables serial over BT, I think... was a requirement to support their BT smartcard/CAC reader. Don't think they support DUN over BT though, or OBEX. may support some BT-GPS units though, I haven't tried.
