Silva's Personal Radar Ski Speedometer
When you're zooming down the white fluffy hills this year, be sure to know just how fast you're hitting those trees
and wearing out your knees. The "World First" Personal Radar Ski Speedometer from Silva tracks your speed and distance
traveled with a radar module, and communicates over RF with a display that can be used as a watch or lanyard. It can
store up to 50 speed records, which sounds a bit safer that checking your MPH on the way down, and you can even get a
heart rate monitor add-on, if that's your thing. Should be available this Sunday for $259.

I live in Colorado so I was hooked until you mentioned the price tag.

Why not just use a GPS tracker? It would not only give you your speed stats but also distance, altitude, vertical feet and maps to see which trails you skied.

Nice gadget but too expensive. There are some good another speed trackers on the market with a cheap price.

TIMEX BODYLINK...There is a new edition this year with an orange face, I have used it a lot this year. APR $200ish USD in US or $300-$400 is Canada. This uses GPS...Claims 99% accurate, can get you back to where you started, strack altitude and how many meter/feet your dropping. Also COMES with a heart rate. Also good for running and biking...Stop fooling around with these frugal gadgets that are overpriced.

Try the Garmin Forerunner for ~$120 on Amazon. It's a fugly GPS watch meant for running or biking, but I've used it to measure my snowboarding runs (speed and distance).
