Steve Jobs presents the iPod Invisa… on SNL
No, no, we didn't slip up and miss a keynote or anything. But according to a Saturday Night Live "special report"
with "Steve Jobs" of the mighty black turtleneck, we did miss two entire product lines that are both already obsolete.
The iPod Micro was launched live and immediately displaced by the iPod Pequeno (shown at right), holding one million
songs in the size of your thumbnail. Before we could blink the Pequeno was trumped by the iPod Invisa, which holds 8
million songs, "every photograph ever taken," and is completely invisible (and you thought watching video on your
cellphone was cramped…). We don't even have to tell you that someone already tried to place an online order for the
Invisa from the Apple Store, right? Peep the vid:

oddsends @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
Did someone forget how to use their DVR or VCR? (is it just me or was that really recorded on a camera)
James Rice @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
SNL kinda sucked, so I turned it off before weekend update... luckily I recored it, so I just went back at watched that part :) funny stuff
MACALEX @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
Yes, looks like crap. You forogt to say that this is a year of High Definition video! :-D
Andy B @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
I gotta go get my ipod now!
I wonder if you set up a fake buying thing here if someone would try to but one.
billflu @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
SNL has been crap for the past few years.
J Low @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
Worst... Jobs impression...evar.
That video made my eyes bleed, but thanks for posting it for curiosity's sake guys. I appreciate it.
bob @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
iPod Invisa will be sooooo cool! i can't wait to get mine! how much are they going for? i can't find them on apple.com
Fantaz @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
lol, that guy loves making fun of himself.
btw, that's not someone impersonating. he's really Steve Jobs. really!
Sy Sperling @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
Fred Armisten had some of the mannerisms down pat, but he had way too much hair.
And that chick from Desperate Housewives = comedy death
Tyler M. @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
And you forgot to mention that the iPod Invisa levitates in the air. I thought that was its most impressive feature.
Tyler M. @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
By the way, whoever "bob" is in the above comment, I really hope you were being sarcastic. But if you weren't, you should know that there isn't, and there won't be for at least 100 years or more, an ipod invisa.
Cutter White @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
here is the link to a better tivo rip

Chir @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
To whoever provided the video in Cutter White's link: now is the time to learn about MPEG-4 compression.
Chip @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
looks like the guy filmed his 5g ipod playing the snl vid--good incorporation of an apple product :)
san @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
"Fred Armisten had some of the mannerisms down pat, but he had way too much hair."
Noah Wyle remains the definitive Steve Jobs. Remember, he opened a MacWorld expo keynote for Jobs several years ago.
jason @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
ahahah thats really funny at first i belived it before i saw the video. then it was nothign but a joke i wanna make one and sell it on ebay for a thousand dollars
katakata @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
omg..where can i find an ipod pequeno?? its already gone??! someone pls tell me where they still sell this. the invisa is crap.
btw, does steve jobs seem to look younger?
Wallkill @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
Chip, it obviously looks like the guy filmed the video playing on his PSP, not his 5G iPod.
SNL's been going downhills on my opinion, but this was a funny sketch.
ph30nix @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
wow that was good...
i feel so dated getting into the iPod game...i just picked up a 40GB 4G HP iPod @ Good Guys for $90 (liquidation)
I'll let that one suit me for a few years.
jc @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
SNL tanked years ago, as a whole. They very occasionally have somethig funny, but Lorne never really grasped that SNL died with the loss of the "Not Ready For Prime Time Players".
The iPod Flea video is good (see comment #15). Check it out.
Johnny @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
Huh-huh -- yup, iPods sure are small! And Steve Jobs keeps comin' out with new ones. Y'know what else is small? Cell phones. And they keep coming out with new ones of THOSE too! Funny! SNL should do a bit about cell phones! Hey SNL people: if you're reading this, you can totally use that idea. No charge. I bet it would be just as hilarious as the rest of the AwEsOmE show!
Oliver @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
Holy crap that's actually Steve Jobs? Why the hell would he do something like that on SNL?
Yan @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
.........its not actually steve jobs.....................
Samuel McConnell @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
#24 (Oliver) - It's Fred Armisen, not Steve Jobs.
Tito @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
Funny, but get with the metric system already. Nano is already smaller than micro. Maybe a pico or femto would have been a better choice.
Oliver @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
Ah ok. He looks a lot like Jobs, especially since the movie isn't too clear.
Alex @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
The iPod Pequeno is crap, it doesn't support Ogg Vorbis!!!
...Oh, sorry, thought this was slashdot.
Dull @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
Awful, that is so sad. That skit was crap. Now I want an iPod Invisa.
Chir @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
But is it gapless?
Eric @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
The irony of this skit is that te caricature of Jobs bears a strong resemblance to the traditional caricature of Bill Gates in the media. That says a lot about what the iPod has done for Apple.
mark davis @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
the battery life on that micro is really gunna suck. the processor that decodes the HD video will consume all the juie from the tiny lithium ion battery before you can watch a full lenth movie.
who wants in on a class action law suit againts the invisa? they are prone to float away and the every photo ever taken violates my intelectual property of my trip to disney world. Also I told my ex that I deleted those pictures a long time ago.
iVideo Shuffle @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
This reminds me of the "One More Thing" clip on G4 that aired last month. They premiered the "iVideo Shuffle" and the "Nano Mini".
Kevin @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
Jimmy Fallon would have been much better as Jobs. He would have captured the quirky, ADD aspects of Jobs to a tee.
Fuzzyl @ Dec 19th 2005 1:26AM
This reminds me of the ipod flea video.
