Samsung plans digicams with DMB receivers, PMP features
Taking a page from the cellphone playbook, Samsung plans to arm
some next-gen digital cameras with TV and movie playback functions. The new cameras will have 3-inch displays and will
be able to receive digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) signals. The cameras will also be able to play downloaded
videos, PMP-style, and will have a battery life of up to 3 hours. Of course, it remains to be seen whether there's any
real demand for PMP/digicam hybrids, but early attempts at digicam mashups — which grafted MP3 players onto cameras —
weren't exactly major successes. But video might be a more popular option, given that many consumers already use their
digicams to shoot video, and given Samsung's slim digicam market share it's not like they have a lot to lose by
trying.

WOW! Samsung has just invented another form of retarded PDA! I.E. a "convergence" device...remember those? No thankyou, I would rather have all my digital needs in one package (treo, HP, Motorola and ilk), which limits the multi-battery, multi-charger, multi-memory memory card format nightmare!

This jack of all trades shit is getting tiresome to say the least. I refuse to support a company that seems to enjoy shoving every piece of technology they can into yet another 'convergence' device (coverd in post #1).
Eat shit, Samsung.

hey wait guys. i think there's a small spelling error there. there's supposed to be a "u" somewhere in "DMB."
