Keepin' it real fake: Part VI - Fake RAZR costs more than the original
Not only is the GPLUS EV500 the second fake RAZR we've spotted this month, our bros over at Engadget Chinese tell us that in Taiwan this knockoff costs more than the real deal.

Alex, racist comments reflect the ignorance of the poster. Aside from that, if it bugs you that bad why don't you lobby goverment for tighter regulations and possiable trade embargos with countries that don't respect IP and Copyright? Try and be useful to society, I know its hard but you can do it.
It's not like Motorola has a patent for crappy design. let anyone and everyone copy it. who cares? it's basically justifying the poor design. i'm sure Moto loves having knockoffs (instead of BEING the knockoff.)
I really think the Motorola V3 sucks. Don't know why anyone want to copy that :D I hope the improvements in the V3i will help. Still wasn't able to test one.
How do you know this is a knock off? It doesnt say like Razer, it has a completely differnet make and model, sure it looks like it, but that doesnt mean its a fake, get your facts straight before you post thing.

Please keep your comments ON-TOPIC.
Peter:
In case you didn't notice: your link for "Sony VAIO XL1 Media Center PC" at your gift guide post still links to the Firefly phone - despite there is a comment saying that since yesterday before you added your comment there.
I just read the Chinese description of this. It seems interesting. The specs has some interesting features such as dual speakers, MPEG 4 decoding, and video recording functions through the digital camera. Another interesting feature is its support as a USB drive - I wonder if that feature is native support like the Palm T5?
So I think feature-wise it's better than the V3
Heh, love the irony that the Motorola brand is replaced by the words "Digital Innovation". But I've always disliked the way Motorola places their hideous circular embossed logo right up the top.
Personally, I think the GPLUS looks better.
The original RAZR did perform as expected, I can only imagine how the fake one will perform. As for the design, i do like a slim phone, but I also prefer something sturdy. I did not find that in the RAZR.
you know......i could swear that that's the motorola logo on the front of the phone......and this thing is thicker, but makes up for a stronger hinge......but the hinge is on top, and not like a true clamshell-ish design.......ah whatever.....it's a phone from china, none of us are ever going to get it......period........
i think these are not good phones, they should be skinny and sturdy like Nishi says, they are to bulky to be amazing.
Personally, I think the GPLUS looks better.
enough about the brick phone.
I need information where I can buy this phone in Europe. Please help@!
where to buy this nice phone??
if you translate the chinese content and read carefully, it said "design and made by our "korean" design company" OMG! LMAO! chinese people are really naive. ;-)
actually, this phone is made by a Korean manufacturer, and sell their phone in China and Taiwan in another brand, like GPLUS...etc.
it looks BETTER than the razr, and this forum was posted on my birthday! go me!
