Engadget Podcast 054 - 11.29.2005
A bit of a slow week in news outside the enormous Xbox 360 launch that went down, so we've got a bit of a shorter podcast than usual this time. We did take a moment to wrap up the post-360 rundown though, including issues after launch (including some of our own), but also what Microsoft's losing on each console, as well as a bit later on about the supposed Xbox supply shortage. There's also some on the Sidekick III rumor and speculation on T-Mobile's possible UMA rollout, as well as the Asiatotal free PC and some ever wonderful listener voicemail. Oh, and if you're in the Pacific Northwest (or even if you're not) don't forget to stop by our special "live podcast" on December 8th, otherwise known as our reader meetup! See you there!

Didn't Bill Gates already stay that if they didn't gain the market leader position in the games industry with this new gen of consoles they'd make another Xbox?
MS are in this one for the long haul.
We didn't say they had to come out on top, just that they had to significantly improve their share. If they're still at 15% three years from now, there probably will not be another Xbox.

[sega fanboy]At which point hopefully SEGA can step back into the market![/sega fanboy]
Great podcast again. But will you guys give the Treo/Palm stuff a rest. I know you love them and know a lot about them, but you dedicate far too much time to them and its getting very boring sorry. Keep up the good work guys.
RZRNSS!
dom, relax, they were just introducing a new weekly feature.
The verizon version of the razr v3c is definitely crippled. A couple of days ago they added the razr to the coming soon promo on the verizon home page. If you look at the bluetooth specs it explicitly says that it only supports hands-free and headset bt profiles. It also says "It does not support object exchenge (obex)". After the V710 fiasco verizon is not messing around any more. They are saying right up front that they are screwing their customers.

Is it just me or could Ryan and Peter be the voice overs for the Miller Ads at http://www.goodbysilverstein.com/spots/spots.html?
Esp. the 2nd movie in the list.
I don't buy the whole "Enhanced acc RSS feeds are difficult to create" fiasco. If other people do it, so can you.
