Motorola announces TETRA PDA for emergency workers
Motorola has just announced a new product in their lineup of TETRA-powered emergency services devices. The TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) PDA will be available with optional Bluetooth, WLAN, GPS, and camera, giving users a number of different methods for transferring mission-critical data. TETRA is an open radio standard that was defined by the European Telecommunications Standardisation Institute in order to give emergency workers a secure, dedicated frequency to use during disasters.

How much bandwidth does TETRA support? Couldn't a fleet of camera-toting officers overwhelm the system?

TETRA masts are severly opposed, they function at the same frequency as human brainwaves and cause serious side effects such as cancer!!

maybe so, but during a time that you would really need to use one of these, cancer from your PDA is the last thing i'd be worried about. This is deffinantly something emergency crews could make good use of...too bad it can cause cancer... :S (if #2 is correct)
