The hono electric candle
We've seen candles sportin' LEDs with and without wax, pin-hole cameras, and even powerin' faux-digital clocks. However, the $84 Metaphys hono is the first candle we've seen which actually mimics the real-deal like those robots which will one day replace us. Hold the "match" near the candle to light it or give it a tempestuous blow to snuff it out. And if your Red-packed lungs can only bark-up a feeble waft, the candle will flicker menacingly at your impending doom. Fully rechargeable and fully Japanese.
[Thanks, Nic]

That is incredibly awesome. When they bring the price down to below $10, then I'll make the switch from candles to electronics.

*Coughs on his dinner* Obviously my mind is in the gutter tonight. I sure as heck didn't read "hono".

This is v stupid. People burn candles for more than just light (scents? odors? ambiance?), and I don't know who would burn a candle so they can blow it out and watch it flicker.
and who wrote the description on the website? did they just paste from systran?
Barely the flame of the candle which gets wise the movement of the air. The light you design the image which is shut in the white tube, the flame "you fluctuate" and it is the electronic candle which it reappears with LED.
The movement of the genuine flame because analyzing & reappearing, extent and that movement which even the warmth of the flame you feel are the flame itself of the candle. Furthermore, building in the special sensor, spraying breath, it is possible to turn off the flame. When (it extinguishes, it re-lights up 10 seconds later)
In addition, it can enjoy also the gimmick that by the fact that the special match which has belonged is rubbed on stick top, it lights up & goes out.
Besides the fact that with the private stand it can stand to the desk top, also it is possible to set to the wall with the wall-mounted holder. At the dining table and the bedroom, the work which can do to enjoy the flame of the romantic candle, safely.
Also package design being superexcellent, you recommend even in the present.

Not in the least romantic, and not in the least appealing either. Kind of pointless if you ask me, but hey. We get a lot of those pointless gadgets out there don't we?
Unless fire goes extinct, I don't think these candles need to surface.

Hehe see I love things like that. Very cute!
Bubble Bill @ Dec 19th 2005 2:06AM
Ha. Very cute is the operative phrase.
but i fail to see the utility/cost of this pushing me anywhere towards a purchase any time soon.

If you were paying attention, you would have noticed that the link is a Babelfish translation of the original site.
