The Sonos Digital Music System

Sonos Digital Music System

The Sonos Digital Music System hasn't budged from its top of the heap status for sexiest wireless home audio system since its release, and its price hasn't budged a bit either. At $1199 (for a "starter" system), you'll be paying a fair bit for this setup, but it's almost forgivable with the easy to use PC media manager to serve up your audio tracks, support for Internet radio streaming, an incredibly functional wireless remote rocking a 3.5-inch screen and a scroll wheel, and the two ZonePlayers with 50-watts-per-channel stereo amplification — to get that music out of the wireless mesh network and into your ears. There still isn't any PlaysForSure support, and of course iTunes Music Store tracks aren't even on the table (though Sonos did add streaming WMA to the format list) but all in all there's no denying this is one sexy number to put under the tree this year — or maybe to be kept as a "little something" for yourself. We won't tell.
