Glide's TwistTogether LED lamps, um, twist together
Those snazzy LEDs have given lamps, and their lamp
shadiness, a whole new lease on life. A
new take on the illumination action, from Brooklyn's Glide design studio, is the TwistTogether Lamp. These hand-cast
resin lamps hook together, support weight, and power each other, for some sweet looking setups. Of course, you're not
going to score all this jazz for free, try $399 for four, or six for $585. Ah, the price of fashion.

$399 for four lights and only one of them works?
I think my money shall stay in my pocket.
yikes. try cutting the price by about 75% - then, maybe only then would this be worth purchasing.
Hot damn, that's expensive.... It must have cost them like 10 dollars max to make that
I saw these at the Brooklyn Designs show a while ago - they are actually much nicer than the crap you would find at ikea or wherever and there are lots of other things besides block shapes you can connect to them. I wish I could afford them myself. They definitely cost the makers a lot more than 'ten dollars max' because they are actually cast in Brooklyn but since everyone wants (or needs) low prices and is happy with crap quality they are kind of screwed.
First: Thanks so much to Engadget for featuring the TwistTogether Lamp and to all interested! Good editorial recognition, such as this, is crucial to our success.
My name is Dave and I am one of the designers/builders of the TwistTogether Lamp. Currently, this piece is a hand-made studio product that is designed, crafted, packaged and shipped from our Brooklyn, NY studio. It is of the highest quality and a true labor of love. It can be purchased directly from us or at a handful of the country's leading design and object retailers including SFMOMA and Fred Segal LA (check out our web site for a complete list www.glide-inc.com).
For those who have the budget, this is a rare opportunity to invest in a hand made, first-addition studio object. For those who don't, we ask for a little patience while we work very hard to outsource our production and distribution on a larger scale. The product should be much more attainable (cheaper) next year.
Many thanks again for all the interest and support! Sincerely,
Dave
