Dear Seattle: Thanks for coming out tonight!
Hey, just wanted to say thanks to everyone who came out for our Seattle Reader Meetup tonight, and big ups to Nintendo, T-Mobile, Samsung, Griffin, Motorola, and Microsoft for giving us tons of stuff to giveaway (seriously, we gave away well over a hundred prizes) and major props to Boxwave for sponsoring the event. It was awesome meeting and hanging out with everyone. We'll have a wrap up post as soon as we've recovered, but in the meantime please email yr party pics to us at engadget at gmail.com, ok? Thanks!

Peter Rojas @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
We'll do LA sometime next year, I promise. It'll probably be around E3 in May. I'm speaking at SXSW in March, so we'll do an event in Austin sometime that week.
Eric @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Wish I could have made it -_-

Eric @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
We enjoyed the fun! Thanks for coming out. Darn shame I didn't get a door prize - but the T-shirt is great. Thanks!
Pattmyn @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Come to Toronto! (It's kinda close to me, I'd make the 5 hour drive if I wasn't working.)
Elias @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Glad it turned out well. Seattle is an awesome city.
I'm looking forward to the inevitable L.A. meet!
Alex @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Gadget chat, free prizes galore, AND a complimentary beverage? Wonderful, and add in the nice timing for the guests- the first full night we Washingtonians have been completely smoke free in our bars. Well done, thanks much for the event.
BarHopTheWorld @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Thanks guys for an awesome time. It was great talking with both of you... and free beer, Peter, I'm still in awe. If anyone has any great uses for a Griffin iBeam let me know, I'm still trying to figure out what to do with this thing.
Tabfugnic @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM

How about D.C.?
DRG @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
They made a stop here in DC. Due to Federal regulations they were not able to ply the attendees with as many gifts. They did lobby for a tax deduction on time spent waiting [http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=%22waiting%22&submit=Go] for gadget arrivals.
Kevin Flanagan @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Come to Raleigh, NC
Special_K @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Cummon to Toronto! We Canadians can teach you how to play curling, and Lacrosse! Not only that, but my high school is full of Engadget readers, and we have no taxes on prizes, so you can give us all the prizes you want! G4 also has a studio here, where Leo Laporte does (or did, I'm not sure) call for help from! What else... oh yeah! We're friendly, kind Canadians! (We /are/in the middle of an election, but hey; its a chance to see us in a state of mind only rivaled by when our settler ancestors had to argue over the last piece of pemican during the first blizzard they ever experienced ;)!

I've been a lurker for some time, but had to make it out to the meetup. It was a lot of fun, depsite a lack of crowd enthusiasm while Peter and Ryan gave away a ton of DS's, SPOT watches, and Sprint & T-Mobile phones. Although I didn't snag a raffle prize, Peter managed to find a leftover shirt for me at the end.
Ryan and Peter, thanks for your time, it was quite interesting to learn a little of the backhistory of the site. I also want to say that I really enjoyed your candid answers to all the questions people had for you.
Mark
TxDot @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Yeah, come to Austin. Dallas? Houston? Fahgetaboutem :-)
phi @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
i figure DC was a test before taking the show on the road (as well as very impromptu because of those iBooks in Henrico County). Now that you guys have gotten your feet wet, I think we need another bona fide meetup in DC with lots more vendors and prizes!
DJ @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
How about coming to Milwaukee? Wait... nothing good ever happens there :(
brownopher @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Dallas/Houston would rock. I live in Oklahoma but I would make the flight.
Mat @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
thanks for the free jack and coke!
mk @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Any chance an engadget meetup will make it to Michigan?? I know Detroit has gotten a bad rap, but..... I figured it was worth a shot!!!!
Alex Brewer @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
It was really fun, i got the door prize, i picked up an iPod power adapter thinking it was the iJuice battery pack nut was really not. My dad got an iTrip, and then i got a t-shirt at the end. I was excited to get to see the treo 700w and play mariokart ds on an lcd tv!
James @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
London.. seriously guys, you know you want too.
Marc @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Thanks a ton for the event. The door prizes, Q&A, and gifts were AWESOME. Best of luck with the interview today and looking forward to the next time.
Safe travels and happy holidays.

Are there no gadget geeks in South Florida? You guys should make it out here. Fort Lauderdale or Miami. Beautiful weather and beautiful women. Mix that with awesome gadgets and you have heaven in the making.
You guys should think about it.
JVijil @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Yeah Miami!!! One of the Hottest citys in country! Beaches+Girls+Gadgets= HELL OF A TIME!
Charlie @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Thanks for the Griffin Powermate and t-shirt, I was super excited to win.

You guys should come to San Jose,CA it would be great to have a gadget event in the capital of silicon valley
Abs @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Arghh! I'm a little annoyed that I couldn't go at the very last minute (dang friends and their last minute b-day dinners--if anyone of of my friends is reading this, I did have a good time with yalls). I think I even went through the similar 5 stages of death after finding out I missed the celebration: Denial (I'll be able to make it and have time for my friends); Anger (Damn vile traffic and friends!); Bargaining (I'll send a card); Depression (you gave out DS's, Spot watches and phones w/o me?!); and now Acceptance (maybe next city).
elmapache @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
COME TO L.A.!! pleeeez
Tom Harpel @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Thanks very much for putting on a great event. Good to see so many people turned out. It's pretty cool that Pete Rojas himself handed out the drink tickets to attendees as they entered the front door. And thanks for the Nintendo DS! What a great stroke of luck.
Eli @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
I would've gone but I was afraid Phillip Torrone would be there, and the desire to beat him would be too strong :(
Brian W. @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Thanks for comming out to Sea-town! I got to meet quite a few cool geek people to geek out with. Add to that, the free beer, and my shiny new red DS with mario kart, I had a GREAT time! Please come back to Seattle anytime, seriously.
Pat @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Philadelphia!
Liam @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
If you're ever in Australia, Melbourne's a great place...
hongkongkid @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
It would be great if u guys came to hong kong. There loads of people here who read the site. Hong Kong is a gadget city!
Jacob L @ Dec 19th 2005 12:21AM
Hmmm well I guess there's no chance of you comin to Ohio. You could go to the football or rock and roll hall of fame. Yea and in Cincinnati (where I live) we have America's largest abandoned subway tunnels. Plus you could always go and watch the Bengals kick ass. The point is just come to Cincinnati or somewhere close.
