The Japanese case mod
There are case mods, and then there are case mods, ya know? And we're pretty sure this Japanese inspired mod, complete with sliding access doors and bamboo watercolor, would fall under that latter, italicized category.

WOW... These actually look awesome! A great thing to have if you want your pc to blend in with expensive furniture...

All that and they don't make origami with some flag ribbon cable.

I would cry if i had that and the paper door tore if you put pressure against it.

My wife, who is Japanese, just said "that looks like something for old people in Japan."
Then when I told her I was gonna write that, she said no, she didn't want to make anyone feel bad, but then she just had to add "but I think if my grandparents were still alive, they would have loved that."
Well, I thought it was funny.
But I liked the case mod myself.

This is real case modding. None of that pre-built buy-it-up-you-bihatches stuff. Buying pre-ripped jeans is oh so sad, don't buy airfix mod kits - if you don't use a dremel to build your rig, it ain't worth shite.

Yeah, ok. Some of us don't have HUNDREDS of hours to dedicate to building a case like this one...

Well, I personally prefer the style of old-Japan rather than the styles of "new" Japan--mostly because I'm not into Hello Kitty.

I've seen a lot of case mods where I've been impressed by the time, effort, attention to detail, or technical expertise involved. This is the first case mod I've seen that made me think, "I would have that in my house."

But is it constructed according to feng shui principles?
