Kyocera's unannounced KX21, or Switchback
This just in: the Kyocera KX21. Also known as the Switchback, this voluptuous, QWERTY-fied number sports a camera, 1x RTT data, but no Bluetooth… yuck. Seems like this will be available shortly from Virgin Mobile.

At least the keybaord is ergonomic...for elves with carpal tunnel syndrome.
Virgin mobile needs to get its act together and start stocking phones other than Kyocera and Audiovox crap.
Yikes, is that as big as it looks?
mmm... How many lbs is that?
It kind of surprises me that Virgin Mobile would be coming out with a phone of this style. Normally they stick to simplicity it seems.

Rather kinda sorts like a Sidekick :)
At least you can hurt anyone who tries to mug you by throwing it at them...
wow, the first phone with a 14" lcd AND a full sized keyboard
If Virgin wants to become a decent prepaid company, they have got to start releasing better phones and cut rates. There's much more competition in the prepaid world than there was when they first entered.
as the anonymous submitter of these pics i can say that it is quite small, almost too small maybe
4.25in x 2in x <1in
At least its appropriately named... "Switchback".
Buy one... and you will.
Lord, that is atrocious. Another lousy QWERTY/candybar hack
I have Virgin Mobile and use it because I don't use cellphones very much. I can tell you that it doesn't feel like a full-fledged, proper cell phone service. That's why I think that phones like this wouldn't feel right with such a company.
Finally! Virgin Mobile is listening to its customers and giving us what we want. The phone looks THICK though. Not to mention, its almost like The V [LG VX9800] from Verizon.
I really like how it looks. I dont see what you guys are seeing that makes it ugly, except the thickness.
I just wonder the price and battery life. I might get it if those two are just right.
looks pretty good to me - phone and easy text...plus i have virin mobile and i will never go back to a contract plan that rips me off ...wonder what the price is
