Yea this device was awful. But contray to what is said above, this device did have voice recording capabilities however this is no important because the device is NOT worth buying. I got one for christmas and it worked fine until one day while I was one the train the sound slowed down as if it where running out of battery power. You know, the type of sound of tape makes when it's ripped and damaged. Well I though I just needed to charge it so I did just that and the device still acted the same. And the buttom response was always slow, I would have to push the button two or three times in order to heard the music, of course I though little of this at the time. Also, there is no shuffle option, only continuous play. IF all this did not convince you all not to get this item, then the next thing I'm about to say will. Remember I said I got this device at Christmas (2005). Well, it broke on the 2nd or 3rd of January. You do the math. Do not buy this item.
P.S does anyone know the company the made this device for I want to send a complait and I know people from China, Taiwan, and Thailand so translating my complait will not be an issue. So if you know the name of the company please post it thx and I hope I was of help
For those looking for a device strictly for reading, the new Kobo is a nice little option. It's small enough to slip into a pocket, can do more with a PDF than the competition, and at $129, it's $10 cheaper than both the Nook and Kindle WiFi.
