Samsung's new 2ms LCD displays

So Samsung is cranking out some new 17 and 19-inch LCD screens with 2ms response times and 1000:1 contrast ratios. Both the SyncMastermagicCX717B and CX917B are privy to a Samsung developed technology called "Response Time Accelerator" that, you guessed it, accelerates those response times up to a snazz 2ms, though it seems that it's only gray to gray (hard to tell from the translations we waded through) which would put it in the same league of other 2ms displays we've seen. The prices ain't to shabby though, at $400 and $500 respectively, though we're not quite sure what resolution you're getting for your buck, so we might have to ~~jack a few at CES~~ procure a few through totally legal means to dig up some more info and peep those lean response times.

Gray-to-gray is actually the better way to measure response time, so that is good news.

Why does Samsung always accompany their product publicity shots with cute Korean girls? Why is this one even cuter than usual?

Honestly, it draws attention away from the industrial design of the product. I didn't even notice how thin the bezel was until the third time I saw the picture.

it's a geek test if you notice the girl before the product you're not geeky enough to spend the time/money to examine thier product....cause the bezel was the first thing i noticed.

Why this obssesive focus on LCD screen response times? Your graphic card is the rate limiting step on screen refresh speed, not the monitor. 2ms or 10ms, it makes NO VISIBLE DIFFERENCE!

#14, yes it does. I can notice the difference easily. It's uber-noticeable when you move white text around with a dark (not black) background. Even when I drag a Steam window slowly around on my 16ms monitor (Dell 2405fpw), it looks like ink is getting smeared everywhere. While ghosting is not blatantly noticeable in games, there's certainly a difference in motion clarity between my CRT and my LCD. I always score better in fast paced shooters like UT2004 when I'm using a CRT.

If those monitors are TRUELY 2ms, then *drool*
