Ray CharlesWhat we're watching
:
It's pick a movie night; two are so-so (but good for HD) and one is an Oscar winner. For the "thin-plot, thick-HD" you can choose between "Sphere" on HDNet Movies at 7:45 p.m in 1080i or "Vertical Limit" on Fox at 8 p.m. in 720p. I've seen both of these and while they would be good for a high-def set, I'll go with the Oscar Winner. "Ray" won two Oscars and I haven't seen it yet. Jamie Foxx won accolades for his uncanny realistic portrayal of Ray Charles, so he gets my vote. I'll tune in to HBO-HD for "Ray" at 6:15 p.m. in 1080i.

Don't forget that "In Justice" premieres tonight on ABC at 10 p.m. in 720p. This looks like a real tear-jerker of a show, but could be a solid mid-season kickoff.

After the jump is our traditional listing of HD programs throughout the night.
