Motorola's RSG bridges VoiP and cellular phone services

Motorola just announced their new Residential Seamless Mobility Gateway (RSG) said to "break down the barrier between home and wireless phone service." The RSG products will include an 802.11b/g access point, four-port router, and a built-in VoiP adapter allowing them to control your home network, power standard telephones, and act as a hotspot for your mobile phone. As such, they will eliminate the hassle of multiple providers for home and mobile allowing callers to simply dial a number while the gateway determines the best available network or service option. What's more, when paired with a dual-mode handset, RSG can seamlessly transfer voice calls between the home wireless network and cellular network without interrupting the call. And one device means one number as you roam in and out of your homes. The RSG2500 is expected to drop Winter 2006 while the RSG3500 is expected this summer and adds the ability to power two lines of primary VoIP telephone service within the home to boot. We'll bring ya the pics whenever Moto finds it convenient to post 'em.
