Pepper introduces Pepper Pad Plus
Pepper an updated version of too-cutely named Pepper Pad tablet device, the Pepper Pad Plus. This new pad
promises 60 percent greater battery capacity, as well as WiFi 802.11g, a 30GB hard disk and Bluetooth 2.0. The rest of
the specs seem about on par with the previous version, including a 624MHz processor, 256MB of RAM, and 800x600 8.4-inch
LCD touchscreen. Price comes in at just under $800 after a $50 mail-in rebate.[Via I4U]

Once again, no PCMCIA = no way to use a Broadband PCMCIA card for wireless cellular = teh suxxorz.

Pointless when a more powerful, more feature-rich, more expandable laptop can be had for much less.

Agree with LD. If it was $200 to $300 I'd probably get one. They could even drop the HD and it would be for netsurfing on the couch when my wife hogs the laptop.

$800?? You can get a laptop for $500-600 with built in wireless that does way more than this machine (With a larger and higher resolution screen). Completely and utterly pointless.

I have one of the previous versions and for the most part I like it. The keyboard is very cool actually. It's a joy to use -- your thumbs get used to it quickly; it's easy to hold it and type at the same time. It's also much lighter than a laptop.
On the negative side, the java environment is too slow for my liking and the battery does not last as long as I'd like (about 1.5-2 hours for me with constant wireless traffic).
I'm looking forward to their software update that is supposed to speed things up a little.
