Samsung demonstrates first 3.6Mbps HSDPA cellphone
Step aside Option 'cause Samsung is
showing off their 3.6Mbps HSDPA handset at CES. That makes Samsung the first kids on the block with a handset capable
of speeds beyond 1.8Mbps. Like Option, Samsung is using the same Qualcomm MSM6280 chipset to achieve these speeds. And
like we've said before, don't expect these, or theoritcal 10Mbps HSDPA speeds from Cingular's
BroadbandConnect network on day one. Still, it's nice to know that the promise of real HSDPA speed is out there in
the not too distant future.

Orange are already at work on our upcoming HSDPA network and our labs in Bristol have been trialing it since mid 2005.
Expect a rollout towards the end of this year.
