Treo 700w arrives on Verizon Wireless

Holla! Verizon just announced availability of the first Windows Mobile-powered Treo, the long-awaited Treo 700w. The specs are exactly what we'd figured, but we'll run 'em down for ya again: EV-DO, a 1.3 megapixel digital camera, 128MB of memory, Bluetooth 1.2, removable battery, an SDIO expansion card slot, and a 240 x 240 pixel display (which is lower res than the 320 x 320 display found in the Treo 650). They're selling it for $399.99 with a two-year service agreement. Anyone ordered theirs yet?
I picked mine up yesterday morning (as noted on another thread) and so far, so good. Haven't had time to run it through the drills so jury is still out if it's worth the extra over the 650. I've got 14 days to decide.
I have had the treo 700w since last week and I have to say after trying the samsung i730 and the audiovox 660 that this phone the treo 700w is a real phone HURRAY!.
First of all I have not dropped one call so far, which is the main reason for having a phone right?.
I need to lookup contacts and i use the calander the res doesnt mean much the screen is to tiny to be a factor on any of these phones.
You can get the samsung or whatever for the screen quality but it doesn't make up for the dropped calls and the lousy mic(samsung) or speaker(audiovox).
The Treo 700w is the first pda phone that can be used as a real phone I need it to make phone calls which all the pda/phone makers are forgetting (I need a phone with good reception a good mic and a good speaker finally I found it)and the added pda features are more than enough.
Not to sound biased so I have to say honestly that the speakerphone on the treo 700w is lousy (to much high end).
for the dude steve that thinks windows is superior. UM WM 5.0 sux It is very buggy i have had the imate jasjar, i have sprints 6700 which loses its sound and freezes. I also have the verizon 6600 which is a lil buggy but not as bad as WM 5.0 . it is still not mature just like XP was when it first came out. If you think ipods are just a trend and macs are junk. i never have had to reboot my MAC when i did have one. DO I like windows better then the palm? for some reasons yes but stability... no way.windows will NEVER be as stable as mac or any *nix OS. So stop letting bill gates brain wash u.. haha

I hate that Handspring ever merged with PalmOne. Palm is destroying the Treo name like they did all there other loser handhelds, joining with Microsoft adding Windows Mobile to the Treo line this news is just as sad as intel putting chips in a Macs. WTF is going on with everybody today! A Treo should remain Treo running only Palm OS not becoming a Pocket PC!
