HP Photosmart R927 digital camera (and six others) announced
HP dropped no less than seven new, but rather ordinary, digicams here at CES. In the R-series, we have the
top of the line R927 (pictured) which is by far the most interesting throwing down 8.2 megapixels, everybody's current fave 3-inch LCD
(only) viewfinder, 32MB onboard memory, and a regular ol' 3x optical zoom. And like most of the other newly announced
cameras, it features the ability to remove red-eye while images are still in the camera and an on-camera button to
easily order and share photos on HP's Snapfish service. It also presumably packs in SD expansion in that 1-inch metal
shell though it's (importantly) not mentioned in the press release. Price TBD but shipping by March. Pics and specs of
the remaining digicams after the break.
Rounding out the R-series are the identical looking R725 and R727 (pictured) "ultra-compact" 0.9-inches thick shooters featuring 6.2 megapixels, 3x optical zooms, and 2.0 and 2.5-inch LCDs repectively.
HP also announced a few more low-end cams
including the M527 sportin' 6 megapixels with 3x optical zoom, 16MB memory built-in, and 2.0-inch LCD.

Great. I'm sure that 3-incher will suck even more juice out of HP's already terrible batteries. Now you can take up to 3 pictures before recharging instead of 5. YAY!
Unless of course they changed them.
just a question: is that a dent in the front upper corner?
I hope the battery life is better than my HP 850. That thing was so bad I carried 16 AA batteries with me whenever I used it. I gave the camera away as I could not charge anyone for a unit that power hungry.
