Engadget Podcast 059 - 01.06.2006

UPDATE: OUR RSS FEED IS EXPERIENCING SOME DIFFICULTIES, BUT RATHER THAN CONTINUE TO WITHOLD THE
PODCAST, WE'RE POSTING IT. WE'RE WORKING ON IT, THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE!
On our second day of CES coverage we didn't exactly get much more sleep, but we did manage to have the best keynote coverage of anyone anywhere. Marc Perton, our resident keynote ninja, sits down with Peter to talk about his day spent with Moto, Dell, Samsung and Sony. Besides the keynotes, we pontificate on Verizon finally adding V CAST Music, SanDisk rocking two new MP3 players, and TiVo yanking a keynote at what looks like the last minute. Plus, Peter interviews Dell CEO Michael Dell (yeah, that Michael Dell). The Engadget podcast from CES is a-go!

I so don't get the "They can't call it Pentium 5." I guess saying Pentium 5 586 is "redundant" but non-geek consumers don't even know the difference between PowerPC and x86, much less that the "x" in x86 is short hand for "different numbers go here". To a consumer "Pentium 5" is just a new chip. Oh, well.

Please for the love of everything good, fix it in iTunes?
Peter Rojas @ Jan 7th 2006 2:46AM
They can't call it "Pentium 5" because the word "Pentium" is inspired by the prefix "penta-", which means "five". It'd basically be "five five".

Please, SOMEONE fix the iTunes feed.

Would it be possible to get a podcast of EarthLink's presentation on voice? I would have liked to have seen where they are headed.

I would be great it you could include a bit more of the tech in your tech reviews. It would be nice to know OS, players (example U10 runs FlashLite 1.1) and other tidbits that developers, hackers and makers might find interesting even if they didn't want the product as is. Personally I want more info on the guts rather then the case. It would also be nice if you were a bit less USA centric on the Podcast. That is my whinge.
