Motorola inks deal with Kodak for camphone products

Motorola and Kodak have signed a 10-year "cross-licensing and marketing deal," which is somewhat vague on the details, but will probably involve adding some EasyShare branding to Moto cameraphones. The partnership may also involve more concrete projects, including co-developing cameraphones using Kodak CMOS technology and creating new EasyShare docking printers that can work seamlessly with Motorola phones. The printing aspect of the deal is likely to get the most play, and should appeal to consumers who use cameraphones as their primary cameras — though they may be in for a rude awakening when they move those pics from a tiny LCD to a 4x6 piece of paper and discover what kind of image quality their cameraphone is really capable of.
