Panasonic drops a couple of 3CCD DVD cameras
DVD isn't our favorite format for consumer video, but 3CCDs are better than one, so if you're looking into the DVD cams, you
might want to give Panasonic's VDR-D250 or VDR-D300 a look. They drop for $900 and $1000 respectively, with 10x zooms
and 2.7-inch LCDs, and the main difference between the two being the Leica lens and 3.1 megapixel pictures on the
VDR-D300, with the VDR-D250 going 2.3 sans Leica.

I still don't see why anyone would want to pay for much for an inferior picture quality. DVD's mpeg2 is no where near the quality of 4:1:1 DV, and mpeg2's interframe compression makes editing a pain.
I guess that's the price of convenience.
Did they pick them up after they dropped them?
