Samsung GX-1S DSLR for reals
Samsung's rumored GX-1S
DSLR has at last made its debut, and -- as expected -- it's a relabeled version of Pentax's *ist DS2. Not that there's
anything wrong with that, since the specs include a 6.1 megapixel imager, ISO levels up to 3200, 2.8 fps burst mode,
2.5-inch LCD and an 18-55 Schneider D-XENON lens (of course, it's compatible with other Pentax lenses). No word on
pricing yet, though the *ist DS2 goes for about $650, so we suspect a similar price in markets where this becomes
available (which may not include the US, depending on Samsung's agreement with Pentax).

If that's a real Schneider lens on the front, I'd have to conclude this would be a great camera/lens combo. Schneider makes some of the finest lenses of any company in the world - including compared to the likes of Zeiss and Leica. Schneider makes some of the best lenses that have graced Rollei and even Hasselblad, as well as some of the very best large format lenses.
Very interesting...

6.1 MPs is getting a little small for most camera's. sure nikon still has 2 DSLRs-D50 and D70s, but they are consumer and prosumer respectively. just seems to me(being a very advanced ameteur) that 6 MPs are on the way out.

Just a comment regarding the burst modes. Burst mode is 8fps (JPEG) and 2.8fps (RAW).
Cheers!
