Dynamizer hits the slopes
Hey, it's no double black
diamond run or anything, but you just can't deny Dynamizer -- the Robo-One battle-bot -- hitting the
slopes for a day in the snow.

That's pretty funny. They just need to program in some safety system so that if it starts going too fast it will automatically snow-plow instead of toppling over. Torino Winter Olympics, watch out!

so it sucks at skiing (mostly just goes straight and then topples over). but if you look towards the end of the video, when it's just sitting on the snow and trying to get moving, you can see some of the articulations it's capable of--smooth looking weighting/unweighting, bending forward at the knees, etc. given how good that looks yet how terribly it skies, it sort of suggests that there's a ton of tiny balance adjustments necessary in real skiing that we take for granted. neato.

Is this what robots do on their off days? Or is this how robots get around when they're rocket fuel runs out?

W-uh oh, looks like one Dynamizer is in great need of some ski lessons!
.........
I, for one, welcome a robot winter getaway.

What the hell is with that snowman at the end of the movie?
NeoteriX @ Jan 25th 2006 4:33PM
They can build a robot that has the artificial intelligence to ski... but they can't figure out that he need longer skis to stop toppling over?

Hello everybody.
I am a developer of Dynamizer.
This year's Japan is very cold.
The eldest son hit on this plan because we had snowed earlier than annually in the Yokohama City where we families lived. Please hit on the thing to make SKY done, and look at eldest son's robot site ROBOT to the start.
