I have one of these, fully maxed out with all the optional extras. This replaced my older Dell M60 as a general work machine for 3D graphics programming etc. This is a far better machine than the older M60, better built (the case dosn't flex when you lift it up!), with better battry life and massive performance (Doom 3 with all options on at over 100fps).
This is an expensive machine, but there is not equlivant in performance, (I even looked at the AlienWare machine), if you have the need for this sort of stuff it is worth the money, otherwise buy a desktop
