The Flower Art flower printer -- no, seriously
Not for the
faint of wallet -- though sure to melt the hearts of many a mother on that certain day in May -- the $1,250 Flower Art
flower printer prints on flowers. Like, actually really literally prints on freaking flowers, man. That sound you're
hearing now? Florists the world over cashing out and placing orders.

Sure, why not.

"Florists the world over cashing out and placing orders." Is it a little early? Or is my reading comprehension in the gutter?
gnome @ Jan 30th 2006 8:59AM
Now, THAT is ridicuolous. But i kinda like it..
ephraimephraim @ Jan 30th 2006 10:04AM
"the world over" - or at least where the power is 50Hz. Gotta read the fine print before you order.
Craig @ Jan 30th 2006 10:51AM
If you're gonna fu** up the natural aesthetic of a real flower with cheesy graphics printed on the petals, why not just go with a fake, artificially scented flower to begin with?
Taken to the next level, why not spray paint advertisements on trees, or mow promotional messages into the sides of grass-covered hills, or chop patriotic images into the sides of mountains? Oh, wait.
Jerome @ Jan 30th 2006 10:55AM

I bought a candle printer / flower printer last August from a Chinese company called qdunique. It still isn't working properly. There's no documentation or parts identification list with it so you can't name the parts properly when you e-mail the Chinese for help. Communication with their sales support team is really weird. Their translations from the Chinese language really don't make sense in English most of the time. You send them a long list of problems; they only pick the questions they want to answer and say they don't understand the rest. I havn't got a single print yet that I can use because the printer mis-registers the RGB printouts !!! Is that the only problem, you ask. Heck no !!! I have to pre coat the candles with a kind of inkjet receptive varnish; problem is it won't stick to western made candles, or a least to none of the 54 different samples I've bought and tried. Then it takes 9 minutes to print a 3"x2" graphic in full color. Then, the ink "beads" on the candle and never dries. It smudges when you touch it, even after 7 days. There's more, but I think I've made my point. I tried to get my money back and suddendy the Chinese play hardball. They tell me "it's your problem - not ours". They offered to check out the printer, on conditions I paid $400 to ship it to them and $400 to ship it back -if they can fix it !!! If they can't fix it they say they'll give me back my money. Right now I just want my money back. Be warned folks. $1250 is a lot of dough. When you pay it to the Chinese it's really hard to get it back - and so is service, spare parts and consumables.
Sue @ Jan 26th 2008 5:18AM
I would love to know if you got your machine sorted or your money back. I too am thinking of dealing with this company as I can't seem to locate a machine outside of China.

Yes i also own a candle printer. Im in montreal canada i purchased from qdunique. The printer works. However it is true it taks over 5 mins to print half a candle. Also you can buy decalc paper that you can use to apply to candles instead of spending 2000$. If someone comes up with a similar coating material please let me know. It can't be very difficult to make. Thank you.
Dave

I am also in Canada, but i had bought my printers (both a flower printer and a candle printer) from a company in the USA. the first candle printer i received was not that good, but the second one i got (for free, from technical support) is really good and is now their standard. pre-coat solution is great! (pricey but works great.)
Now they have a combined printer for both flowers and candles!
and now I am the Canadian reseller of flower and candle printers for this company in the USA.
the prices are more then in China, but these printers work great! and support is great, which was why i decided to represent this company in Canada.
www.printapetal.ca
to see the printed final products visit the website. you will see that candles are awesome! (internet specials link for the candle pictures)
main page for the flower pictures.
prints very well on real flowers, but i am not in the real flower business. (real roses don't last that long anyways!)
wendi @ Mar 28th 2009 5:19PM
I have a candle printer that i brought from china. I ve had alot of problems with the coating of the candles. It is very tricky to put onto the candles. I ve tried numerous other products to try and coat the candles as it is difficult and expensive to obtain from china. Has anyone else had problems with the coatings?? can anyone recommend an alternative to coat.
The actual print is good on the candle if you manage to get it smooth enough.
I also have the flower printer...which is ok...not brill . I ve found using the decal paper much more reliable and a lot lot cheaper!!!!
If anyone knows where i can get any coating other than china then please do let me know.....
And .....if anyone wants to know more about the printer then please get in touch.
heather @ Mar 30th 2009 6:55PM
I too brought the candle printer and had a few problems but I ironed out a few snags, ( some to still be sorted ) I had a lady called daisy who help me, I found her helpful and kind and took time with me even though I must have driven her crazy. This is a good company and yes the english is poor but they are helpful in most ways. If I can help anybody with a candle printer maybe we can get together to pool what we have all learnt. My email address is abigails.china@blueyonder.co.uk. Lets band together to help each other

Please help.
I've bought a candle printer from Unique Products Development Co. Ltd., China. And I have a serious problem, the printed image can be erased afterwards even by the lightest pressure of your finger, even after 7 days of drying. Does anyone have a solution for my problem? Do you know a coating solution that I should use?
