"As someone who doesn't reside in the USA, I was wondering what would be the best way to get internet for my computer in the US for a couple of weeks? If it were Europe I know I'd look for some prepaid data. Is there anything similar offered by American carriers? A MiFi or a data SIM that I can tether from would work, but I'm trying to maintain a tight budget. Help!"
this is HORRIBLE!!! Here is why and here is what is going on...most people, the general public, do not know that using GPS satellites costs you NOTHING! for example, if you buy a GPS unit, like a tomtom, or a magellan, or a garmin, or whatever, you do not have to have a subscription or anything, or pay for anything other than the actually hardware costs, because the actual satellite signal is FREE! Verizon is not paying the goverments for use of their satellites....but they are charging you $10 a month, when you can buy a bluetooth GPS receiver these days for $30!!
This is the BIGGEST free money idea verizon has ever thought up, and they are making money hand over fist because of the ignorance of the public! GPS has been free since the dawn of satellites...over 50 years! Please people...don't be a sheep, don't be an idiot and pay verizon for a service they do not even have to pay for themselves! ITS FREE ALREADY....would you pay $10 for a "FREE: Take One" sample product at the store?!!! I have been using my bluetooth GPS for years...guess what it costs me? around $35-$40 bucks, ONE TIME!
