Yup, it's that time of year
again. We know some would rather just duck their heads back in Punxsutawney Phil-style rather than brave yet another
V-Day (you people can just skip this post). But there are some lost souls out there who just don't have any idea what
to get that special someone in their life for the holiday of love, and we're gonna represent. So let's hear it, we're
turning the mic over to you to ask what
Valentine's day
gadgets you're gonna get your sweetie -- best picks will make it into our special V-Day gift guide. And no, dinner
for two and a bottle of vino doesn't count.

I plan I getting my SO a Gameboy Micro with some sort of inscription. I'm sure she'll love it! I hope she doesn't read this....
terrelbot @ Feb 2nd 2006 6:10PM

Last year I bought my lady a Zire 72 a tought her hout to send text messages over bluetooth, I know just my excuse to buy my treo. This year... I'm screwed how do you to that?
Gift Card, Hitachi Magic Wand, Print digital pics on flowers... All Crap.
Mabye, ship our iBooks to ColorwarePC to be painted to match... Wait they already match.
I'm so screwed... You people better come up with better ideas.
Melanie @ Feb 2nd 2006 6:56PM
Just had to step in here.
A Hitachi Magic Wand Is.Not.Crap.
In fact, it's held by many to be the holy grail of "personal massagers" (ahem). Guys, deliver the Magic Wands unto your women and you will be greatly rewarded.
Or go for the cute factor and get the Hello Kitty vibe. It's on my secret wishlist :)

I know a lot of people who get iPods with inscriptions on them. Probably iPod Nanos, unless you feel like spending more/less.
Personally, I'd get my SO a cute cell phone or maybe make something.
Dogtown @ Feb 2nd 2006 8:06PM
I'm getting my right hand a glove...
Don Wilson @ Feb 2nd 2006 8:06PM
I pondered for about 45 seconds what SO meant, and it's 'significant others' for any one else around here that is as slow as me.
Lita @ Feb 2nd 2006 8:47PM
I'd like to get him some classic NES(yay mario bros.) games for the GBA, to use in the NDSs we do not yet have.
Bophojones @ Feb 2nd 2006 9:02PM
Definitely the new verizon pink razr. Now if only it weren't so expensive....
Fred Hyke @ Feb 2nd 2006 10:29PM
I tried to win my guy a new watch through the gizmodo Hard Disk Dying contest, but alas didn't win. *sniff* Guess I'll have to try and find it in the US.
Supra Dragon @ Feb 2nd 2006 10:41PM
easy.
A Penny-Arcade heart shaped tetris shirt ( http://www.thinkgeek.com/pennyarcade/gamer/7fbf/ ) and some Chanel Coco Mademoiselle smelly stuff. If I hadn't blown all my money on her for christmas, I would throw in something with pearls, like a bracelet, yeah, that's what she has been hinting at.
Rex @ Feb 3rd 2006 12:06AM
I suggest the Fuze neckless that they sell at ThinkGeek.com

boosterstevens @ Feb 3rd 2006 2:26AM
Verizons pink razr with the matching pink razr purse. Apparently she prefers color over substance. (Hopefully she picked up on the hint that I want a 700w or as she calls it the big phone with the letter buttons on it.)
SushiGirl @ Feb 3rd 2006 2:51AM
#6 - It's cute! Definitely sell them!
smartphonezen @ Feb 3rd 2006 4:48AM
Hmmm. Mine really needs a new hard-drive, but I'll probably get her a new Megadrive game. I think she must be bored with Sonic by now.
nasos007 @ Feb 3rd 2006 5:28AM
a box of chocolates and some flowers (i'll get a game for me so i can enjoy myself while she scoffs the chocs)...
fabienne @ Feb 3rd 2006 6:23AM
i would like chocolate, champagne, and an oqo running *nix please. and an ultralight high-lumen low-noise short-throw-distance digital projector. ok that is all. oh nevermind, yes, a new soldering iron is fine, i'm not a picky girl.
oh wait, what am i getting HIM? damn i have no clue.
Carlton Bale @ Feb 3rd 2006 8:09AM
For your wife, maybe a Sonos system, so you can "make it easier for her" to listen to the music collection. Co-habitation has it's advantages. "Really, honey, it's for you. Or maybe both of us. But I didn't buy it for myself. Happy Valentines Day."
Philip @ Feb 3rd 2006 8:14AM
Buy your wifes a Dyson, it kills two birds with one stone. Its the ultimate vacuum, and she needs to clean up the place anyways.
k8izir8 @ Feb 3rd 2006 8:28AM
Although wine is trite, if you have a gadget lover who is also a wine enthusiast (who doesn't have one yet), the "Rabbit" wine opener is spectacular. No, not the rabbit massager attachment, although that might make a good gift, too...
Bert @ Feb 3rd 2006 10:34AM
Well, she's been hinting at a World of Warcraft subscription for quite some time now.. Being the dense geek I think I finally figured her out.
Sean @ Feb 3rd 2006 12:43PM
I'm giving her the severed head of her favorite cat in a pink box and white bow.
sean @ Feb 3rd 2006 1:27PM
Hard disks, printer cables? Don't you know, girls want RAM! (P-A 12/22/00)
underwhelmed @ Feb 3rd 2006 1:43PM
I'm kinda screwed here because my wife's birthday is on Valentine's day. I have to do some double duty and I've run out of ideas too. I've already got the flowers and Wicked tickets, I just need some other things to compliment them.
Belle @ Jan 29th 2007 1:29AM
why don't you buy her a nice dress to wear to see WICKED? or a nice necklace?
notwithnucleararms @ Feb 3rd 2006 1:47PM
i enjoyed the glove comment.
the future is no place to place your better days
marilyn @ Feb 4th 2006 12:56AM
Last year I got my best Valentine's present to date, an unlocked Treo 650! We both got one and spent the evening configuring and adding software to them all while sipping champagne and eating cheese. Ah, geek love :-)
BlueLightBandit @ Feb 6th 2006 12:08PM
25. Don't you know, girls want RAM!
Dang, I always thought it was a HARD Drive.
I was always told that a Good Man is Hard to Find...
A Hard Man is Gooder.
Dacker @ Feb 7th 2006 6:08PM
I just ordered my wife a new Apple iPod Nano 1GB, white (I have a 4GB black) and had it engraved with, "Happy Valentines Day -- 2006".
Bilete de Avion @ Mar 28th 2006 5:12PM
Sean, "girls want RAM!" just did it!!! I plan for next V day to get that for my SO :)

How about an Air Port Air Tunes from apple. ahttp://apple.com/airport. Music and wireless what else could a girl want... Maybe a trip to BoraBora to enjoy the view or a giant LCD...
