We've got the wireless keyboard, the
wireless laser mouse, and the 30-inch LCD- why didn't we think of this before? And wouldn't you know it, here's
designer Sietze Kalkwijk teasing us with his one-off, you-can't-have-one Herman Miller Aeron Chaise, commissioned
by Berry Friedman, which takes the ergonomic office chair to the next level by making it a recliner-like lounger
suitable for supine computing. Supposedly the design was inspired by us lazy Americans who have a reputation for living
a rather sedentary and TV-filled existence, and may actually see a production run at some point. We'd love to argue with
that whole "lazy Americans" thing, but we're pretty sure that if we're not the poster boys, we certainly
contribute heavily to the stereotype.

"Heavily" being the keyword here.

That's ridiculous. I'm not sure which is more cliche'd at this point, Lazy Americans, or Criticism of Lazy Americans. And certainly the best use I can see for this thing is some arch-nemesis RISD professor seated in one, twirling-in a greeting with a wave of the arm to the student who's common sense he's trying to destroy in designing this crap.

Humanscale Freedom is where it's at when it comes to seating. I'm not a fan of the Aeron at all. They've got this rigid plastic seat edge that cuts into your legs if you decide you want to twist your torso a bit when you sit. Sure, you can argue that it's forcing you to sit properly, but I want a seat that's comfortable no matter how I choose to sit. The best chair I've ever sat in is without question the Freedom.

wheeeeeere can I get one?

That thing looks a bit like a speculum. I'm not sure I'd want to sit on it.

Dude, I've had Aerons at work and then had to go back to standard furniture. Let me tell you, I REALLY miss Herman. I'd love a couple of these overpriced, self-important, Neo-gen chaise, for my living room so I can grow my ass in style!

I doubt, that Mr. Kalkwijk and Mr. Laarman have ever seen or used a real Herman Miller chair. Otherwise I can not explain this inergonomic design which does not deserve to be called Herman Miller Aeron...

It looks cold.
I agree with those above that the Aeron isn't the bee's knees at all. As a fashion statement okay, and more comfortable than many cheap and nasty typist chairs, but not the ultimate in corporate comfort - and certainly not a model for laid-back relaxing.
