Intelix HDMI baluns for hi def over Cat5
Perhaps
slightly luxe than the Gefen fiber DVI and HDMI cables that came out last month, Intelix got your back if you've got
some HDMI to move up to 150 feet and happen to have a couple Cat5
cables laying around. Their HDCP-compliant HDMI baluns can pump
that signal over your Ethernet lines for a very decent distance, but it'll cost ya: their MSRP on a pair of these is
$560, so be prepared to bite down hard for the luxury.[Via HD Beat]

audio authority has been selling Cat 5 audio video distribution systems for a while now.
We've been selling the Audio Authority products for a whie now. Their HD (granted not HDMI one) is awesome because you can toss IR, Component Video, Analog Audio, and SPDIF through Cat 5 cabling.
Wow, I expected something like that to be MUCH more expensive.
This is a cheaper solution than the Fiber units -- even if you have to run the cable, shielded Cat6 is a lot cheaper than installing and terminating fiber.
you really need to check out cats i hdmi baluns from Magenta Research. 1080p at 150ft, 720p at 300ft, and xga at 300 ft.
plus every other kind of signal Video, audio, spdif, serial over cat 5. this is the stuff the pro use.

The VERY annoying thing about this product is that one of the Cat-5s has to be shielded. So forget about this as a "gee, I have plenty of Cat-5 data wiring in my walls - now I can ship HDMI around sol'n".

hm, ich wonder if it works with hubs: you could watch a movie everywhere in your house +gg+
ooooh its gold.... so what, geffin has been making this product for almost a year and it doesn't need shielded cat5...
