How-to build an air-cooled mouse pad
We've seen numerous air-cooled mice that
keep your palms dry during extended frag sessions, but they usually don't come equipped with the
"industrial-strength" components that gamers require in terms of precision and flexibility. Well instead of
sacrificing function for comfort, why not build your own air-cooled mouse pad, so you can use your favorite
gaming rodent and stay sweat-free at the same time? Hack-A-Day found a step-by-step guide on this exact mod over at
Inventgeek, where they show you how to transform under $50 in supplies into a mouse pad fit for--dare we speak his
name?--Fatal1ty himself. Basically the build boils down to using several types of adhesives to attach properly-shaped
polyester (for the cover) and steel mesh (from a garbage can, for the mousing surface) cutouts to a $25 Antec laptop
cooler, adding weight while it dries, and returning the next morning to a USB-powered 'pad. There must be tons of other
pimped-out mouse pads out there- what's the best one you've spotted?

See, playing video games do help fat kids lose weight! The sweats gotta be something...Right?
Think Ill stick with my cooled mouse though, it does its job well and the way I play, Id be off any mouse pad within seconds during a frag session.

You know you could loose 100 pounds so you didn't sweat sitting in a chair moving a mouse less than 6 inches...

Yeah, I agree with #3. I'm into gadgets and all, but an air-cooled mousepad has to seriously be one of the most straight-up dorky things I've ever heard of.
I guess I might just be in a minority here, but I used to play games a lot and sweaty hands were never even remotely an issue.
So seriously, people's hands actually sweat badly enough to warrant this?

Uh, yes. Not everybody have constantly dry palms. My hands get sweaty if I clench them together for even a little bit.

Ben:
Exactly, its not just a fat thing either. Personally my palms stay nice and generally dry. I do have several friends with serious palm sweat issues, only one of which is overweight. What we really need are air cooled console controllers, I HATE getting a warm musty dualshock handed to me during a multiplayer GT4 session. Who want's to drive a car with sweaty controls?

or you guys could just put baby powder on your hands
