The WR-07 Transformer robot
If you're a fan of Transformers then check out
this robot in disguise. The Himeji Soft Works developed WR-07 bot is a fully functional wheeled vehicle that converts
into a Robo-One ready battle-bot bent on kung-fuing your azz
into subordination. Click the "read" link to watch WR-07 skillfully placate his human spectators into
docility prior to attempted escape! The vid then cuts-out abruptly presumably to cover-up for the embarrassing fact
that Tokyo's defenses are tuned to the likes of Mechaguiras rather than this wee 15-incher.

The Japanese site (robot-fan.net) was overwhelmed by hits, and was down for a while. It's back up again now, and the video is also viewable here: http://www.robots-dreams.com/2006/02/a_car_and_a_rob.html

Imprezive!
Now, can they do it with a real automobile? I know that old dude at England is working on the Mini. Hm...
Davecat @ Feb 12th 2006 4:07PM
They'd have to do some real amazing feats of engineering to do it with an automobile, otherwise you'd have stuff like this happening: http://70.86.201.113/imageserv2/temporary/PBF077ADDisassemble.html. Not a positive selling point..
