Kajeet: an MVNO, you know, for kids

Do we really need another youth-oriented prepaid cellphone service provider? The suits at Bessemer Venture Partners, Gabriel Venture Partners, InterWest Partners and Fidelity Ventures seem to think so, since they've just handed over $27 million to the founders of Kajeet, an MVNO that will focus on the tween market. Expect tons of hipper-than-thou marketing, along with a modicum of messages to parents about how cellphones will help them keep tabs on their wayward progeny. (Oh, and for the record, Kajeet is yet another meaningless acronym, this one created using the initials of the founders' kids.)
